3DS price dropped to $170
Re: 3DS price dropped to $170
Perhaps I'm off base thinking of the 3DS as a sinking ship. The more I think about it, it is kind of a weird mentality for gamers to think of a price drop as a bad thing (those of us that were not early adopters anyway).

It is great that they are giving 20 games to early adopters.
But they are just ports of games I already have.

No. The 3DS has already done too well to fail as hard as the 3DS. Even in a worst case scenario, the 3DS has gone too far to be remembered as a flop on the scale of the VB. Plus, the 3DS's coffin is far from nailed shut. Nintendo can still right this listing ship if they try hard enough. I mean, just look how far the PS3 has come from 2006. It went from being a super-expensive game barren laughingstock to arguably the best console this generation. It's far too early to write off the 3DS.benderx wrote:Wow 8 pages on this form. This... this made me laugh. Very good.irixith wrote:You would have been boarding a sinking ship to buy one at launch. To buy one now, is like exploring the wreck of the Titanic under the water.J T wrote:I like the gimmick of glasses-free 3D. I know a lot of people don't care for it, but I think it's cool. I should be excited about this price drop. While the price drop is somewhat enticing, I feel like I'd be boarding a sinking ship to buy a 3DS now.

Good ploy, but I'm still not buying it until there are games I want on it. As much as I love Star Fox 64, I don't see reason to buy it again.
Although I do agree, it is too early to completely right the system off. It could rise. I just won't be buying it until it starts rising, regardless of the price.

QFT. I was all set to get a 360, then the PS3 Slim came out. Haven't looked back. It has pretty much all the same games as the 360 that I wanted, except the few shmups that got released hereBoringSupreez wrote:No. The 3DS has already done too well to fail as hard as the 3DS.
