Pokemon Blue - Elite Four. The first time I got there, I saved in the middle of fighting them and had NO idea what would happen if I lost. So I just kept fighting and using my items. Luckily, my level 64 Blastoise (Bowser of course) powered through.

Sense you mentioned bad boss fights though... Little King's Story. Never have I played a game with such a discrepancy between the absolute joy of the regular gameplay and abysmal, makes-me-want-to-kill-myself boss fights.

I really enjoyed the boss battles in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. They were pretty much my only motivation to finish the game. Especially the series of events leading to and during the final boss, it's like they took the worst parts of the game (driving the train endlessly and controlling zelda in the spirit tower) and decided to suddenly make them feel fun rather than a chore. Too bad it took hours of fetch quests and uninspired dungeons to get there.

It seems I've been talking a lot about Persona 4 lately, but here it goes. I loved the last battle of the good ending of P4, mainly for the music. [Note, don't go listen to the last boss theme; this is the only time ever when I would consider a game's song a spoiler in itself.] I don't want to say any more than that, except that people who have beaten the game know exactly what I mean.

I just looked up to watch the ending really quickly, and I actually like what they did with it. I might still prefer the SNES version, but it doesn't look bad.

I remember that fight. I made it extra epic for myself by only using a solo MC with a massively buffed Metatron. I had mostly fused elemental absorbs so that I spent the entire fight just autoattacking and being healed by the boss on half the attacks.

The bar room brawl between Wolverine and Sabretooth in X-Men Origins:Wolverine is actually quite fun if you know what you're doing.

The fight between the Colonel and Zero in Megaman X 4 is awesome. Just a straight up duel between two light saber wielding warriors

The butcher and Carmilla in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow are just plain fun

The Kingdom Hearts games have some of the best boss fights ever. In fact, I could argue that being the only real reason to even play them. They are so worth it. I love the Phantom fight at the Clock Tower, among others

I'm not sure I would say that I savored it, but the boss battle I have played more in my life than any other other boss battle is good old "007 373 5963". I may have forgotten all my old telephone numbers, but never that password.

SOTC in general. But really that loss Colossus. Because I knew it was the last. And it was so crazy and long. It took me two nights to beat him actually. But I as much as I wanted that last stab to happen, I also kind of didn't want it to end.

Sweet Lord, how much time did you spend on that game?
