Looking for replacement AC Adapter for Sega CD 2

Post by Zevin_Mars »

Hey, I've recently came into a Sega CD 2, but have no adapter, does anyone know where I can buy an AC adapter compatible with a Sega CD 2? Thanks in advance.

Wouldn't surprise me if someone here had one in their trade pile. Check the trade forum.

At the moment I'm more curious if an adapter from another device will work, I've heard NES adapter's will blow a fuse and I've heard Model 1 Genesis adapters are identical, but then I've heard they're not.

Basically I just want some clear cut info from someone who has the unit and can point me in the direction I need.

Never use a US NES adapter for anything else. EVER.

The NES brick puts out AC, not DC, and will blow up or at least cause issues with any device expecting DC current. See the link in my sig.

Oh, nice, thanks. :D So the Genesis Model 1 Adapter is the same then? That makes this a lot easier, pretty sure a friend of mine has a few of those laying around.

I know that the games that I own, they're all on my PSP now. I always fight over whether I'm going to play Final Fight CD or Sonic CD.

I never thought I'd find myself having rivals between my PLaystation and Sega CD games on my PSP, I would have preferred if it was my Playstation 1 and Sega Saturn games, much better rivalry right there!

The Sega Genesis model 1 adapter should work fine.

To be sure the model 1 adapter outputs DC 9V 1.2amps
There is a second version which outputs DC 10V 1.2amps

Either one should work. Just flip over the Sega CD and check to see what it is asking for.

Edited in my list thanks. Forgot to do that when I had a model 1 here to repair so I was no longer sure.
