Japan only has NTSC from what I know. so its gonna work here in USA we have the same signal format.kingmohd84 wrote:I would agree with you
except that I had a japanese game (starfox 64 i could figure)
that worked and i played through the first level
this made me confused
I thought yes maybe pal games won't work, but how did this japanese one work?
the mario 64 i played(after breaking the cartridge cover) is for singapore.malaysia, and indonesia.
That is what is written on the cartridge, and it even worked
this is what is confusing me and making me believe that "pal" is not the problem
N64 cartridges
Ok here is a solution to any one would face this problem
I did take a friend's 64 which is PAL, and all the games worked just fined.
It appears that the two smaller plastic blocks in the cartridge slot is not the only hack
you need to fix to play universal games.
If you will buy an N64 you are better with the PAL, because I used an adaptor and played
an NTSC game and worked. When I used same adaptor on the NTSC for PAL games it didn't even work with NTSC games.
thanx for every one that helped
