Yeah, though I am about to the point where I am going to give up on Zillion, as I just don't enjoy it in the least. Otherwise I have played four games to completion, have one game I am slowly working on (No One Lives Forever), and four more left to play before summer's end in September.Flake wrote:Let's get a status update from everyone!
I have 4 games down, 5 to go. I just started Metroid Prime 2 this morning. I have opted for the Wii version as I find the GCN controls difficult to return to after playing Corruption.
Is everyone else still plugging away?

I'm still trying hard to level up in Resonance Of Fate, it's a pretty difficult game. The same with FFXII, most of my teammates are level 13-14 and the enemies still manage to hit us hard.

So close to beating MMX4.
Playing Metal Gear Solid, Duke 3D and Chrono Trigger.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
1. Wonder Boy in Monster World (VC - Mega Drive)
2. Secret of Mana (VC - SNES)
3. Final Fantasy IX (PS1)
4. Metroid Prime 2 (GC)
5. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)
6. Blazing Lasers (TG16)
7. Banjo Kazooie (N64)
8. Panzer Dragoon (Saturn)
9. Punch Out!! (NES)
10. Advance Wars 2 (GBA)
6 down, 4 to go. I finished off FFIX today, I was kinda sad that it ended. It's definitely my favourite FF game. For the final boss, I generally just played really defensively, throwing out sparse attacks as Freya and Zidane between lots of spamming Curaga, Auto-Life, Full-Life and regen on my team. The final boss had a VERY annoying attack that caused random status effects to your entire team, even though i was guarding against some, I still had a lot of problems with party members getting petrified, and one very annoying bit where Eiko, my healer, got berserked. Because Berserk counts as a 'good' status effect, i couldn't heal it with an item, and i couldnt get rid of it with dispel because my healer is the only one who could cast it
Even more annoying, I had an ability on her that made her 'attack' command heal instead of hurt, so the boss got several turns of free healing until that wore off
In the end, I beat the game without ever losing my entire team and getting a game over. I had a couple of close calls on that last boss, but my combination of buffs between Eiko, Quina and Freya made it hard for enemies to kill me fast enough.
I'm not really sure where to go from here, I'm not really in any rush to play the last 4. Not that I never want to play them, but I'm not sure I feel any of them right now. I've got about 7 stars in Galaxy 2, so I guess I'll continue through that now, and I might start Advance Wars alongside it. Advance Wars was my replacement choice for Mischeif Makers after it stopped working.

You're doing Metroid Prime 2 as well, alienjesus? Have you ever played it before or is this going to be your first run?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

It'll be my first run at the game. I'm not even sure if the disc works, I've never tried it.
I beat Metroid Prime around Christmas last year, that's the only one i've played properly, even though I own all 3. I've played a little of Hunters (single player's pretty lame) and about 15 minutes of corruption otherwise.

Okay, so you're in the same boat as I am. I just started this morning and I can already tell it's not quite like the original. I find myself getting lost a lot more.alienjesus wrote:It'll be my first run at the game. I'm not even sure if the disc works, I've never tried it.

I absolutely love the Prime trilogy to death, but Hunters... was downright terrible in my opinion. Just in everyway, huge letdown.

I'm in Dr. Leo's laboratory in Soul Blazer. I hope to finish it in the next few days.Flake wrote:Let's get a status update from everyone!

8/10 games down so far. Should be fairly close to the end of number 9, but am stuck and havnt started the final game yet. If I cant get past the point I'm in on FFVIII I may swap it out for Chrono Cross instead, but I'm not quite ready to retire it just yet.Flake wrote:Let's get a status update from everyone!
