OMG so close to beating MMX4 now. I finally figured out Sigma's 2nd pattern so can handle him easy. And the third I think I understand enough so that next time I fire it up and fill my E-Tanks I'm quite sure I'll be beating it.

If I ever get to it! I stupidly decided it'd be a good idea to do the sidequests in this game, and have spent the last 7 or so in game hours running around on a chocobo. After one or two hours I was kinda sick of it, but at the same time I didn't want the time i'd put in to be a waste. I've finished finiding all the chocographs now (had to use a guide though) and I've found all but one of the friendly monsters too. I also have 11 of 13 stellazios. I think I'm ready to move on with the story tomorrow.Xeogred wrote:Last discs are always the shortest, usually lol.alienjesus wrote:Tell me about it. BTW, I'm assuming the optional boss requires me to be at a crazy high level requiring hours of monotonous grinding. Would that be right? If so, I think I'll be leaving that for another time. I have to get on with the other half of these games!

Its been a really long time since I fought Ozma (the optional boss I think your referring to), but if I remember correctly you want your entire party at level 80 at least and you need a move or two that does 9999 consistantly (like frog drop). I think you only get a card from him so its only necessary if your going for a full set of cards.alienjesus wrote:BTW, I'm assuming the optional boss requires me to be at a crazy high level requiring hours of monotonous grinding. I never fought Ozma. I simply can't be bothered to level up that much.

Well..... I think I'm ready to give up on FFVIII now. I spent about 3 and a half hours trying to figure out how to beat Seifer near the end of the 3rd disc and just couldnt do it. It tried every combination of juntioning I can think of and nothing seems to help. Levelling is useless in this game so I'm assuming the only way to increase my characters abilities is to back track for GFs/magic/items I missed earlier in the game. Since I'm really not enjoying it that much I dont have much desire to spend several more hours hunting for things.
I was really hoping to have this wrapped up nicely either today or tomorrow since I've been cruising along so quickly lately. *sigh*

Sin and Punishment is becoming very hard all of a sudden. I am battling some random Japanese school girl with a katana who I think is voiced by Lisa Ortiz.
I can figure out two of her three patterns but towards the end of the battle shit gets wild and she comes out on top. And then she mocks me. And it is a different mocking each time so far. Meaning the developers deliberately had the voice actress record those lines - they knew I would fail and do so repeatedly.
How did they know!? How did they know...

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

If it makes you feel any better, I may not bother trying to finish Zillion, either.Crabmaster2000 wrote:Well..... I think I'm ready to give up on FFVIII now. I found 3 parts of that game to be particularily challenging. That was the first one. The next wasnt until the last boss of the second to last level and that final one was the final boss battle (rightly so). Just practice getting better with your sword timing. It'll help greatly on that fight and a few others in the near future.Flake wrote:Sin and Punishment is becoming very hard all of a sudden. It helps a bit, but after sinking in 20+ hours and being so very close to the end it feels like a major defeat on my part. You have no idea how bad I wish I could just grind up a few levels in order to solve the problem.dsheinem wrote:If it makes you feel any better, I may not bother trying to finish Zillion, either.Crabmaster2000 wrote:Well..... I hate to bring this up, Crabmaster, but if you are really in a situation with no practical way of advancing in a game, cheating is an option to consider. In times like this, there really isn't any shame in it.

You know you put in the hard time for 90% of the game already. It sucks to cheat, but at least you'll get the thing off your list and be done with it. Otherwise, you might be tempted to try again some time from now and put yet more hours into a game that you didn't seem to enjoy.
