hi members , ive looking at Canon EOS 550D 720P/1080P Video samples on Youtube and each one stutters when Panning from Left to Right / Up and Down etc. I can also download the Videos to MP4 through a Firefox Plugin and they still stutter , my decoding Codec is CoreAVC.
Is it my PC that isnt powerful enough to play the Videos at a smooth rate or the 550D that stutters ?..........
also does anyone have a powerful PC or 550D and can verify which is the culprit
one of the Videos i am trying is below and my PC specs are below that
Core2Duo 2.2Ghz
1GB ram
old 512mb Arcade VGA Video Card

I think it's your computer. I didn't have any trouble with the Video. I have a 2.3 Ghz dual processors core-two duo with 4GB of memory running Windows 7 x64.

What OS are you running? XP can run acceptably with 1 gig of memory if you don't have it bogged down with crap. If you have a bunch of programs and a ton of 'helper' garbage running down by the clock, it will be choking on that much memory. If you're on Vista or W7, 1 gig will definitely hamper you, especially if you are on the fancy interface.

howdy gtmtnbiker + Hobie.............
thats great news that you didnt have any problems playing the Video gtmtnbiker thanks for your detective work
Im running WinXP SP2 , if i look into what Physical Memory i have after i XP loads and FireFox has loaded i have about 150-200 MB left. It seems most likely that its the culprit to the Video stuttering.

It will have paged a ton of stuff to the hard drive as well, so it will be constantly be having to fetch and swap. See if you can add some memory, that will help your PC run better in general and should be pretty cheap. Also, install SP3 already.s8n wrote: Im running WinXP SP2 , if i look into what Physical Memory i have after i XP loads and FireFox has loaded i have about 150-200 MB left.
