You just described everything I hate about cell phones. You can't talk to anyone anymore. All the stuff I want to say would only take 3 seconds... Pick up the phone!!noiseredux wrote:nah I'm not one of those iPhone creeps. But I hate TALKING on the phone. So I love that people call my cellphone, I ignore it, and then text back "what's up?" and then they tell me briefly what they wanted instead of the whole "whatcha doing? How's everything? Blah blah smalltalk thing."

Likewise. I kind of need it for work but it's not imperative. Really though, I hate the damn thing.Opa Opa wrote:I can't wait to get rid of mine.mjmjr25 wrote:Samesies. I don't have a cellular telephone either.
On a side note, I was able to weather the storm of furious texts. Will be sure to avoid Facebook in the future.
Getting older sucks, bro.BoringSupreez wrote:I've never had a cell phone either. Why spend money on a phone and a phone bill that I can spend on games and DVDs?

if I knew that about you I would just pick up the phone. But for people that i know drag shit out I'm gonna text you "what did you need?" and get the short version.Opa Opa wrote: You just described everything I hate about cell phones. Also, I forgot to mention regarding the bill: I use Virgin Mobile pay-as-you go. I pay $25/mo for hundreds more minutes than I'd ever use, along with unlimited text and unlimited data.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I actually use the free phone verizon gave out with the plan. No apps, none of that new-fangled crap. Text messaging is expensive, and I don't like to do it anyway, I'd really rather just see folks in person. I never use my phone for online stuff. It has a camera I only used to setup pictures of my girlfriend as a background.mjmjr25 wrote:I don't know dude - i'm pretty damn happy and I don't think i'm missing out on anything save: a large bill, a massive time-suck on the latest apps I didn't know I needed before they existed, my mom/wife/girlfriend asking me "Why didn't you answer your cell phone?" all the time, and the cancer...don't forget the cancer.noiseredux wrote:now that's just silly.mjmjr25 wrote:

Best phone I ever had didn't have any of that crap either, but it did have a built-in LED flashlight. I loved that thing, it was so useful.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I just have a prepaid phone. I put on $20 a month and if I run out, I run out. Boo fucking woo. At least then people can contact me if they really need to in an emergency.
The phone it self only cost $60 and it has a camera and free Facebook. I know you were all just bitching about Facebook... but I love it

Ticked: Keyboard buttons are not heat resistant...
Took my keyboard apart to give it a good scrub. Tried to dry the buttons with my hairdryer...
Buttons warped like Hell almost instantly...
After 30 seconds my spacebar looked like this:

Goddammit !!!

What kind of keyboard do you have? I can't see my keyboard curling in the heat like that.dsheinem wrote:elmagicochrisg wrote:Ticked: Keyboard buttons are not heat resistant...

Big Smile: I think I did really well today with my "pre-employment test" for Farmers Insurance, passed all the tests including the crazy call center simulation (this is all new to me). I was the only guy there that wore jeans though... yikes? Haha, I mean I got a haircut yesterday, wore a nice button up shirt... hope that was enough. Haha. And well I should be getting a call within the next day or so about scheduling an interview with an recruiter. Hope it works out!
Another smile: The trainee receptionist was HOT.
Ticked: I'm damn tired, all I did was applications and bill paperwork yesterday. Think I'll take it easy after that test today and relax.
