Slim PS3 issues (hanging on load screens)

I've had this PS3 for roughly 1-2 years. It's an 80 GB Slim model. I've taken excellent care of it, it's in a wide open space and receives plenty of ventilation.

I got Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition last night and had some problems playing it. It can read the disc just fine, but every time the game gets to the VS/now loading screen, it indefinitely hangs there. I tried the game on another machine and it runs fine, so it's not the disc.

This is the first time I've experienced any issues with this PS3 at all. What might be causing this, does anyone have any knowledge about this kind of issue? It would really blow if my PS3 was on it's way out for some reason. Help would be appreciated.

There is no 80 gb slim model. And it sounds to me like your PS3 is on the way out. I'd send it in to Sony for repairs.

Whoops. I probably have a 120 then. I don't use it that much anymore so I must have goofed on the numbers.

It's what my 360 started doing before it died. I assume it means the chips aren't working right, which means it's dying. Not that I'm a professional or anything.

damn bro that sucks... i think its about $150 for repair if you dont have insurance on it.
