Well in this case Hashiriya called within minutes of renting the game so he would to have rented the game, scanned the disc to get the correct ring code on it, Printed and cut it out, then called and been told to stick it back in the box. Since this it unlikely to have happened in this short time frame, they've believed he didn't do it. If someone called 6 hours later they'd be less likely to believe him.

I had a feeling this new addition of video games would be problematic for Redbox. :|

It's one thing to let a $15 DVD go, but a $50 video game? Yeaaaah. Just wait till more people catch on. :/

pretty sure game rentals cost more than dvd rentals. Blu Ray rentals cost more, I know that.
