In GL's defense, I have been hearing lately that a lot of what made it bad was an unfortuante case of studios mucking things up in editing. I haven't seen it yet myself, but that wouldn't suprise me.
I'd expect a director's cut to pop up when it comes out on BD/DVD, so if I'm still curious about the movie by then I'll watch that version.

Editing has nothing to do with it. The guy can do "anything" and he uses a sling shot. And somehow he makes flying (in 3-D) boring as hell. And as far as the CGI, it's shit. It doesn't redeem the film at all, as it looks terrible. Parallax looks silly, and the writers made him even sillier by having him speak English without even visiting Earth.

What if he were to use a giant slingshot and yell "don't have a cow man" while launching a cow? Would the movie be good then?

That doesn't make sense, but it would be the start of a better movie. Or he could throw a frozen green laz-y-boy at parallax while saying "Chilllax Parallax".Jrecee wrote:What if he were to use a giant slingshot and yell "don't have a cow man" while launching a cow? Would the movie be good then?

Now I'm hoping for a wonder twins movie where they take the forms of a seagull and ice gondola.Luke wrote:That doesn't make sense, but it would be the start of a better movie. pulp fiction - fucking brilliant. it lived up to hype. first time i saw it, too. i really want to watch a other QT films now.
dark knight - ehh. i heard a lot of good things about this film but didn't think it was great. i probably will watch it again soon because i didn't grasp 100% of the story the first time around. but i did love how heath ledge played the joker. i also think it is funny how batman talks when he is in his suit.
speaking of super hero movies, what the hell is with all these super hero movies coming out? i just saw a trailer for captain america.

They're also doing film adaptations of The Runaways (not affiliated with the all-girl rock group), Justice League, and a reimagining of The Crow (Bradley Cooper as Eric Draven = FRUITLESS ASSHATS INITIATE LAMENESS).final fight cd wrote:speaking of super hero movies, what the hell is with all these super hero movies coming out?
Personally, I wanna see a Power Rangers reboot. Basically, a bit darker yet still kid-friendly, a la Transformers and Star Trek.
But I can't decide on who'd make a better reboot Rita Repulsa:

Helena Bonham Carter or Morena Baccarin.
Carter's can pull off the freakout-diva attitude and can shriek with the best of them.
But while I've never heard Baccarin shriek or bitch about headaches, she looks the most like two actresses who played Rita: the late great Machika Soga and Carla Perez.
Oh, and:
* Kellen Lutz as Jason
* Tristan Wildes as Zach
* Paul Iacono as Billy
* Annalynne McCord as Kimberly
* ??? as Trini
* Christopher Meloni as Goldar
* Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons as Squat and Baboo
* Tobin Bell as Finster
* Ron Perlman or Leonard Nimoy as Zordon
And if they get that far:
* Jackie Earl Haley(voice)/Ken Kirzinger(?)(body) as Lord Zedd [Adrian Brody as Zedd's human form in flashbacks]
* Mariska Hargitay as Divatox

I kind of agree about The Dark Knight being a good movie but about 20 minutes could of possibly been cut but that's me. And to answer your Captain American question, July 22.final fight cd wrote: dark knight - ehh. i heard a lot of good things about this film but didn't think it was great. i probably will watch it again soon because i didn't grasp 100% of the story the first time around. but i did love how heath ledge played the joker. i also think it is funny how batman talks when he is in his suit.

Don't even bother trying to tell me that this movie sucks or it wasn't funny.. You're wrong, and I'm not listening...
