The law disagrees with you. Law is also the only place where intellectual property and IP piracy even exist, so there really is literally nothing to support you here. These things are all just ideas. You're accusing people of stealing ideas, and it doesn't work that way in law or in practice. But heaven forbid some little thing like facts should get in the way of some great petty name-calling.BurningDoom wrote:No, I'm not incorrect. Taking something without paying for it is stealing. Just because that thing is digital rather than physical doesn't change what your doing.

If piracy and stealing were exactly the same fucking thing, we wouldn't need to have two different terms in the first place. They are not the same thing by reality, definition or according to the law.
If you shoplift a music cd from Best Buy, you:
- obtained the music for free
- Best Buy no longer has their music cd
If you illegally download a music cd from bit torrent, you:
- obtained the music for free
- Best Buy still has their music cd
See the difference? Good. Now stop insisting on being ignorant. I'm tired of seeing it.

Woo this went bad fast.
But because it turned into a piracy topic, I do not support any part of piracy. Stop trying to justify it.
I don't even like people using emulators. Unless the content owner supports the emulation.

With all due respect, who made you the arbiter of such things? All the reason you've given is "I do not support any part" and you jump to "stop trying to justify it." Why? Because you don't support it?yomomma1 wrote:Woo this went bad fast.

Won't be long until the thread is locked if the piracy stuff continues.

You're tired of someone calling like it is? I could care less if these thieves are offended I'm comparing them to common crooks, because that's all they are. If they don't want people to think they're thieves, then they shouldn't break the law.Inazuma wrote:If piracy and stealing were exactly the same fucking thing, we wouldn't need to have two different terms in the first place. The rest of us law-abiding gamers are suffering because of piracy. It's because of these people that we even have DRM and any of this is even an issue, so thanks.

Probably would have happened eventually if it had just stayed "fuck Capcom" too, if that makes you feel any better.CFFJR wrote:Won't be long until the thread is locked if the piracy stuff continues.

Re: Whelp, another reason to boycott Capcom.
This is like a big "Fuck you" from Capcom. I often delete my save games so I can complete a game all over again, it makes the game more enjoyable, more satisfying for me the second, or even third play through.
I purchased Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 on day 1, even though in my Country they cost $110, and $100 on launch. I eventually sold RE5 and repurchased it a few months later. If I can't delete the saves...
Honestly, I like Resident Evil a lot. I do. But Capcom can get fucked, I'd rather just pay for and play a different game then support this dick of a move. A lot of discussion lately has been about the Japanese game industry dying. It probably will if they keep dickless shit like this up.
I'm seriously annoyed.
Also... I saw the topic mentioned but haven't read through the 17 pages of this thread. But I personally do support 'piracy' to an extent. I often download games and movies before buying them. And honestly, I wouldn't feel that bad if I did just pirate all my games (Although I like owning the case and manual which explains why I've spent probably thousands of dollars on games I could have downloaded - and in some cases did) with the prices they charge compared to the prices they could charge while still taking in a massive profit over the dev costs.
$100 for Farcry Wii Ubisoft? Give me fucking money back.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

Its not that I'm bothered though so much as this piracy argument is old hat at this point.
The whole site has gotten together for this dance a dozen times and it always ends the same way.

Re: Whelp, another reason to boycott Capcom.
Calm down, go back and actually read my post. I never said one word about piracy being good or bad. I was strictly explaining the difference between piracy and stealing for people such as yourself, who refuse to learn it. Of course, both piracy and stealing can be bad, depending on the circumstances.BurningDoom wrote: You're tired of someone calling like it is? Also, the correct phrase is "I couldn't care less". You actually said the opposite of what you meant to say.
