Flower - 10/10
Darksiders - 7/10

Flower is a great game that is a bit like Rez in that it's as much an experience as it is a game. In fact, the last stage is an exciting, euphoric level that is one of the best final levels of any game I've ever played and rivals the awesomeness of Rez's final stage. It's one of the most feel good moments I've ever had in a game. I think the six axis control is well implemented in this game. Flower's gameplay is a bit simplistic, but making it more complicated would detract from the kind of feeling and experience the game is going for. The game seems to want to trigger a certain emotional response from you and doesn't want the gameplay to get in the way of that. I could bash a title like this for its simple gameplay, but it's a short game and a cheap download and the experience alone of playing it is worth ten bucks.

I can't wait to get back to the game and get the secret flowers that I missed in a few stages. I'd give this one a ten easily. It's a perfect game that succeeds in what it tries to do in providing me with a truly memorable experience and this is another great one for the games as art debate

Darksiders was a very love/hate game for me and at one point I had made up my mind to not finish it. I had issues with some design choices, the iffy jumping, the derivative nature of the game, the bugs/glitches and the fact that combat lacks depth. Still, it's not really a bad game. It rips off other games, but that could be viewed as a good thing since it picks from the best. It's probably the only other game on the market with portal puzzles aside from the actual Portal games themselves and there aren't a ton of 3D games with Metroid-like worlds like the one in Darksiders. Watching it rip off a Shadow of the Colossus battle so closely it borders on gaming plagiarism is embarrassing though. I dug the character designs(despite what Yahtzee thinks lol), the post apocalyptic setting, the voice actors and story. Yahtzee can say what he wants about the character designs, but Uriel is damn sexy

I'll give it some bonus points for skippable cutscenes, God of War fatalities that DON'T require stupid mini-games, a distinct lack of quick time events and a pseudo new game plus(if you actually find all the pieces of the abyssal armor you can carry it over even if you bump up the difficulty). The game's first stage is also pretty cool. You basically watch the apocalypse as it happens, seeing demons and angels fighting in a modern city setting as regular ass humans like you and me are running around in terror. I'll be nice and give the game a seven

I'll probably be adding Alice Madness Returns to this topic soon. I'm on chapter 3 and still enjoying the game

1/15 Dynamite Cop (DC)
2/4 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (PS3)
5/19 Portal 2 - Single Player (PS3)
5/22 Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished (PSP)
6/5 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Reverie (PS3)
6/28 Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X (PSP)

As one of the only Mega Man series games I have ever beaten is Mega Man X, I find it kind of ironic that I chose this one to play and beat again on my PSP. I love MMX so I'll just focus on what's different in this iteration.

Voice Acting - There's now voice acting for the boss battles and it's awesome in that Last Alert kinda way. Don't get me wrong the voices are much better in Maverick Hunter, but it has that same kinda vibe. I loved it.

Graphics - They've done a psuedo-3D/2D thing here and it works really well. It looks great, the animation on Mega Man and the baddies is awesome. Unfortunately it is sometimes marred by slow down. Why? It seems like the PSP is more than hefty enough to get this game rendered. I think they should have worked out the slow down as it tarnishes an otherwise awesome effort.

Level Design - I didn't really notice too many differences, granted I haven't played MMX in many years, but I could tell some things were different. I'm going go with, it was fine.

Anyway loved this game and I think it is a great tribute to a great game!

Just beat Braid this morning for the PS3. Wow, that last level was really something! I'm still not quite sure what to make of it, though...

Completing the game helps a lot (Getting all the puzzle pieces), it's hard but thanks to YouTube and patience you should be able to do it.

Oh, I got all the puzzle pieces before the final level. Was there more than one ending?

Nope, my guess is that the game wants to make up whatever you could from the ending. Inland Empire is like that  .

Thoughts on the Game(s)

You know what, the game was all right. People bitched and moaned about how pathetic this is and to be honest it has its faults, I did not really enjoy the car scenes and the game can be pretty hard at times, but in a way that feels cheap, but overall I enjoyed playing the game from start to finish and that's all I look for in my video games, enjoying myself.

I forgot how awesome 'big bosses' are in games, I kind of miss them.

20. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time Reshelled (PSN)

yeah, so I loved Reshelled. First off you can save between levels. Great for a pick-up-and-play kind of game. I beat it over the course of three sittings. I pretty much loved everything about it honestly. I know a lot of you seem to hate it and all, but I just thought it was great. I loved the look of everything and had no issues with the controls. To me, it was exactly what I'd want out of a remake like this. Too bad it's going out of print on PSN... this probably should've had a physical release if they had maybe bulked it up with more levels or something. Oh, oh... I was Leonardo.
