For the folks lamenting the loss of the lock on, it was added to Sonic 4 to compensate the homing attack in a 2d game. Generations is meant to really be classic Sonic. It doesn't have a homing attack, it doesn't need it, and lock on isn't going to return. Sorry...

Glad to hear it. :D

I liked it a lot more than the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 demo... though I still think Sonic "feels" too heavy or something, but maybe I'd get used to it after playing more. Not bad, I'll keep an eye on this game.

Yeah, that is what I think I was trying to say earlier with the reduced jump height thing. Either way, it still feels off to me. I just played it a few more times and my feeling is the same. Still, this IS a fun game. No doubt about that. It DOES feel like a regular old Sonic game for the most part.

A few other issues I noticed is that the frame rate should be improved. As this is still an early demo, this very well might be improved upon the final release. I'm sure the short, looped music will be extended (LOVING the Sonic 1 Green Hill Zone music!). I'm not liking how the fish jump from one side of the bridge to the other, so I can only attack them when they're coming down (very minor complaint!).

So far, this is looking like a winner and I will for sure be buying it.

Yeah, I mean right after I finished the demo I started up Sonic SMS, and I just loved how Sonic "felt" way more than the Generations demo. A bit floaty and faster when jumping, but that's how he always was in the old games. The physics just seem a bit off in Generations so hopefully they tweak that. I'm glad the homing attack is at least gone though.

I agree its a bit different, but I find it far preferable to Sonic 4.

I mean, supposing that this was the closest they could get, then I'm very happy with it, you know?

I've only played it through once, but I thought it all looked way too busy for the most part. In stills it all looks great, but once you get moving it's hard to keep track of what's going on. Other than that it seemed alright.

Agreed, this is much better than Sonic 4.
