Noisy Saturn Arcade Stick

Post by NebachadnezzaR »

Hi folks. I just bought a used arcade stick for my beloved Saturn (the virtua stick model, not the ASCII) and while it seems to work well, the joystick is making some odd noises. It's not like that clicky noise in the arcades when you move the joystick all the way in one direction, but more like plastic rubbing or something whenever you move it, even if it's just a little. The joystick itself seems to work fine and from what I've seen it's pretty responsive, but it gets annoying to always have that "background noise" while you're playing.

So, my question is, is this normal? And if it's not, is there a simple way to solve it or all I can do is turn the volume of the tv up?

Do you mean the american black virtua stick or the japanese virtua stick? I had the american one and it made a lot of noise under the stick. Exactly like plastic rubbing plastic. It worked, but felt clunky to me.

Edit: I forgot to mention...I never thought about fixing it, so I'm not sure what can be done.

I have the European black virtua stick, which I believe is identical to the American one. Looks like I'm not the only one with a noisy stick, let's see if anyone comes up with a suggestion regarding this matter...
