Drawn Together: The Movie.
Basically, the Drawn Together cast finds out that they've been cancelled and are now being hunted by a robot named I.S.R.A.E.L who seeks to erase them from existence. It's got unbleeped swearing and various things you can't see on the show (including Wooldoor Sockbat having a photorealistic set of African-American genitals and lots of TITTIES!!), which is actually what clues them in to them being cancelled.

I am currently watching Ghost Town with Ricky Gervais, and it's not bad. I've been wanting to see it for awhile now so yeah. I also watched the remake of The Producers earlier today and it was just...ehhh...id stick with the original. Zero and Gene are much better than Nathan and Matthew.

Re-watched all three Lord of the Rings movies, extended versions
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I've seen it. It's one of my favorite movies. But I don't know how it applies. It's just about Bruce Wayne becoming Batman. It's an origin story like pretty much every other superhero movie.Luke wrote:I'm trying to think of a way to say this without being a jerk, but have you seen Batman Begins? Same premise of passing the torch.Jrecee wrote:I think my idea for a green lantern movie was better; Having the previous green lantern retire and train the new one. Haven't seen that done in a superhero movie yet.
Yes I'm outspoken, and yes at times I realize I can be a hypocrite, but as far as movies go there is no doubt in my mind that the GL is one of the worst Summer movies of all time. It's crap. Not the worst Summer movie of all time, but there are no redeeming qualities in the movie whatsoever.
Ten years ago I wouldn't believe a "Bridesmaids" movie would trump a "GL" movie, but how wrong I was.
In most long running comics the superhero identity has been passed down at some point. Green Lantern, Batman, Flash, etc. But I've never seen a superhero movie deal with that aspect. They just take the most well known version of the character and show their from scratch origin.

I've been meaning to see the extended editions for years now, but I've just never gotten to it. How much better are they than the original? This is coming from someone who read the books, FYI.Bradtemple87 wrote:Re-watched all three Lord of the Rings movies, extended versions

It applies because it is exactly what you are referring to; the passing of the torch. Almost the entire first act is a "passing of the torch" sequence.Jrecee wrote:

Sucks to hear that Green Lantern was a bad movie... seems to be the general consensus. Still think they should have cast Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan, but what do I know?
Anyway, I watched the Clash of the Titans remake for the umpteenth time this morning. It's always on the movie channels and I'm a sucker for it.

It's just unnecessarily boring for a movie about a superhero that can do anything. Fillion would have been an improvement, but you can't fix a broken script. THOR was campy and stupid at a lot of times, but I think everyone expected that and the movie was still fun. GL is just...it's really bad man.jfe2 wrote:Sucks to hear that Green Lantern was a bad movie... seems to be the general consensus. The new trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA looks amazing, and I can't wait to see it. It certainly has moments that have to have been influenced by Joss Whedon, from the doctors who wear Dr. Horribles attire to the clip involving a grenade.

Am I the only one who thought that Adam Pascal (pictured w/ wife) would have made a good Green Lantern?

And speaking of RENT alumni in superhero roles:
Idina Menzel as Catwoman

Anthony Rapp as The Riddler

Jesse L. Martin as Nick Fury
