New GBA game... should the cart look perfect?
New GBA game... should the cart look perfect?
I bought a new factory sealed copy of Sonic Advance 2 off of Amazon for $20. Seemed like a pretty good deal. The box looks perfect, the seal looked fine, the inserts were complete and appear to have never been opened. The game however appeared as though it was inserted in a GBA before. It had a few scratches where the plastic touches the GBA. Is this normal? Do they test every cart in a real GBA before they ship or was I douped?

A better question is why would you buy a new GBA game to play it and then noticing some skuffs question its newness? You should of just bought a complete copy, cause either way now its used.
Only reason that would would make sense is you bought the new copy because it was cheaper or around the same price than used complete copies, which in that case why worry.

Re: New GBA game... should the cart look perfect?
I bought a brand new, sealed game a couple months back. It didn't look like a reseal, and I still have sealed games from the store so I know what to look for.
Anyways, I opened, but haven't played it yet and it too had some light scuffs on the back plastic of the cart. I seem to remember noticing that on other GBA games in the past too.
I think they are tested or something, as has already been suggested.

I think that they do have some scruffing from new. I've bought a couple of new GBA games since the system died (sorry noise) and I got into collecting and they looked like they had been in a slot just once.
I also bought a couple of the majesco GG games and they looked the same. I think it might just be from the testing process when they were manfactured.

I purchased a new copy of Drill Dozer recently and recall light scuffing as well.
