Damn, I remember I had like over a 1,000 hours clocked on my memory card multiplayer account that I always used when I played with friends. One of my top favorite N64 games for sure and one that kept me busy forever. Honestly I tend to see more people favor Goldeneye, but I think Perfect Dark is completely better in every single way.CFFJR wrote:I've always felt like I should probably play Perfect Dark, but I can't muster up the will. I did try the demo on XBLA, and walked away from it with no feeling other than meh...
When I think back to Goldeneye, I played the holy hell out of that game and did everything, unlocked everything, all that stuff. But when I really think about it, it was sometimes fun, but most times annoying or frustrating. To be honest, I'm not sure why I played it so much.
I know PD supposedly fixed Goldeneye's issues, but I just can't be bothered.

Finished Panzer Dragoon this morning. For some reason Episode 5 gave me a lot of trouble though. Didnt have any problems with it yesterday, but took me 3 attempts this time. Luckily I did better on a couple other missions and scored a few extra credits to make up for it. Barely finished the last fight though. Was on my last credit and had 1 or 2 hits left when I landed the final blow.
Definitely going to check out a few other games in the series. I really enjoyed it!!
My wife and son are leaving for the week tomorrow so I'll probably try and sink as much time into Vay as I can while they are gone.

Just got the Laconian Sword in Phantasy Star, so now I'm off to find the Laconian Shield!

Some people view that Perfect Dark added too much to the system and made it over complicated. I know many of my Goldeneye friends did not play Perfect Dark because it had too steep of a learning curve. Playing it now on the 360 I can see what they mean.Xeogred wrote:Damn, I remember I had like over a 1,000 hours clocked on my memory card multiplayer account that I always used when I played with friends. Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
All my friends and I moved onto Perfect Dark and never looked back. It even had the best multiplayer levels from Goldeneye come back, had bots and the hilarious Dark/Perfect Sims, and so much customization and depth in the multiplayer that pathetically has pretty much never been matched on a console FPS since. Co-op, versus co-op, far more cheats to unlock than Goldeneye, hidden stuff everywhere, pieces of cheese in levels. The game had so much content it was ridiculous.
But I've clearly seen on the internet over the years the majority seem to favor Goldeneye. I will proudly never concur with that though.

Lavos is defeated, fireworks have been launched, and the Epoch is sailing through night and time. I think I have a new favorite 16-bit RPG

No, but I did quite a few of them. I probably logged 25-30 hours. Besides, I like knowing there's more to do in a New Game+ at some later point.fastbilly1 wrote:Did you do all the sidequests?
