As I was saying earlier o.pwuaioc...

For me an extra dose of that difficulty is due to the fact that the arcade controls simply "feel" slower and more sluggish than the SNES version, which feels a lot smoother or something. It also seems like the hit box on your ship is a little bigger in the arcade version, that and disappearing pixels from time to time really piss me off (like the blob boss in stage 2, when you've shot up the middle a bit and it caves in towards his weakness, even though you don't see those bouncing blobs go through him... they still do and will kill you, so it looks like you're getting hit by nothing).

I've got up to the stage 3 boss today on SNES easy before losing all my continues. Today is the first day I actually got to sit down and play with this game. Hopefully I'll get much farther by tonight.

I found a funny video of someone playing Gradius III that reminds me of myself when I play.

I forgot to comment on Parodius. I've since given it a try and I can safely say it's much easier than Gradius III, but still not easy by any means. I can only get so far as the "bakery" level (which I don't think is much far in the game). Still, it's a lot of fun. The levels and enemies are crazy and I'm having a good time trying out the various characters. It's a great game, just makes me a bit sad that this month we've had two games and I can't beat either.

Yeah, Parodius still rocks. I prefer the SNES ports of Da and Gokujou, first for the extra levels and because i like the SNES music a lot more than the Sat/PSX soundtrack. There are so many epic stages in those games, especially Captain Kebap's battleship or Gokujou's highspeed-stage.
Make's me wish that Konami would do a Parodius Rebirth ._.

I made it to the level after that one and it's a hectic ball of mess, the bakery one is... a piece of cake, compared to the next level if you ask me.

Gradius III can fuck off and die.

I'm spending more time with Parodius on PSP now. Looks great via component-out.

This is why I never submitted my scores, a very difficult game.

I'm so glad this month is almost over. Gradius can... well...

Yeah, that. Hopefully Rayman will be a lot more enjoyable. It will certainly be a lot less frustrating.
