I think we can make a difference. How can we convince Capcom?
Wow, Platinum Games ready to take over DMC project
Re: Wow, Platinum Games ready to take over DMC project
Won't happen. lol
But boy do I wish it would. It's sad to see Kamiya clearly hates seeing his child being torn into pieces. Just like what happened to Mikami with RE5.

Re: Wow, Platinum Games ready to take over DMC project
Could you spell out DMC as Devil May Cry in the title?
Re: Wow, Platinum Games ready to take over DMC project
gtmtbiker you're kinda funny about the thread title thing, you only have so many characters. Anyone who would want to contribute to a thread about Devil May Cry, is going to be able to pick up on the acronym.
@OP clearly you should start a thread about everything that is going on with the DMC reboot so you only have one thread, instead of a separate one for a hopeful takeover and one for a petition to have NT removed from the project.
Personally I can see why Capcom is going in this direction, the entire series was stale by DMC4 and they wanted a fresh injection of players, but clearly they are doing so at the expense of their current playerbase. Maybe they saw how well DMC4 sold and thought it was worth the risk. I know I am one of the very few apparently that is excited about this game series for the first time since the first game.

He should have 0 threads because no one cares.Stark wrote:@OP clearly you should start a thread about everything that is going on with the DMC reboot so you only have one thread

I also think it's kinda sad how bitter people are about it. Just read some of the posts in reply that is linked in the OP, just such vitriolic criticism over people's livelihood. Is this series really that well loved? IT IS JUST A GAME PEOPLE.

If there's a title limit, then spell it in the body of the post. Why should someone have to click on a link to figure out if the subject matter is of interest to them?Stark wrote:gtmtbiker you're kinda funny about the thread title thing, you only have so many characters. It's just a game, being discussed on a gaming forum. Correct. Perhaps you have a better place for me to express my distaste in the game? Yeah, some people take it overboard, but it's not hard to.Stark wrote:I also think it's kinda sad how bitter people are about it. I mean, come on:

Yeah, you got me on that pic, looks pretty effeminate to me, but maybe they were trying for a Japanese flair there? Most of the JRPGs and what not that come out of Japan have pretty effeminate male leads.brunoafh wrote:It's just a game, being discussed on a gaming forum. Correct. I don't mind you expressing distaste for the game or Ninja Theory, it's more when you say that their studio should be burnt to the ground. I know you're joking, but some people do enjoy NT's work and wanting these people to lose their jobs over one game in a series that isn't going in the direction you like, seems drastic. Vote with your gaming dollars, that's how to get NT kicked off future DMC projects.

Re: Wow, Platinum Games ready to take over DMC project
The problem isn't his looks, it's the change. That's not Dante. Also being a demon, half demon or whatever he is, his hair should be permanently white.

Now suddenly instead of eating pizza he's smoking? My problem with this "reboot" is that it's headed by a new creator/director, which was disastrous in RE5's situation to me personally. Dante's B-Grade jokes and humor are just about as epic as Leon's one liners in RE4, and the DMC games themselves had a goofy charm to them just like the old RE's or whatever. Suddenly they want to make the series more grim, serious, and darker, when after 4 entries already, that's simply not DMC.
Now I personally liked Enslaved, but within literally 1 hour into the game or so, I had seen the combat in its entirety. Heavenly Sword was just horrendous. After seeing videos of this new DMC game from E3, I dislike this even more. It looks really slow and chunky, when that's not how the other games were at all. I've already expressed my distaste how the more complex Japanese action games have fallen through the cracks this gen, and I definitely don't think this game is going to have much depth at all.
People can say they're burned out on DMC all they want, but how about this... either A) Don't even make a reboot, or B) If you're going to change everything, make a new IP. Capcom could use a few of those right now anyways.
