Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
Logged a little over 21 hours into FFXII now. Had a great night as far as progression goes. Didnt get stuck or have to grind at all. Did meet one annoying boss that took several attempts, but since there was a save crystal immediately before him it wasnt that bad. He kept casting renew and getting a full health bar when he had like 2 hits left. Finally got lucky on my 4th attempt and he didnt cast it a third time.
Made it to the Phon Coast. Home of a beautiful view and ugly residents according to the moogle that helped me enter. Hopefully tomorrow I can keep up the pace and get a lot more accomplished.
Also started playing some Panzer Dragoon this afternoon. Got near the end of the second episode and realized I could turn my view a full 360. That will definitely help me out on my next attempt. Because of how many hits I took I was only able to make it to and nearly defeat the boss of the 3rd episode. Should be able to make it to episode 5 next time. Can anyone tell me how many episodes there are? And how do you get more credits? High hit percentage, hidden item, number of enemies destroyed?

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
so I did keep resetting last night to unlock the extra cars. I must say that (I THINK) my favorite car is still one of the normally available ones. I forget what it's called -- but it has #4 on it and it's yellow and green. The thing with that car is that though not the fastest, it has great traction, takes corners really really well without skidding out much. Which means I can just drive without as much worrying about drifting well. I can consistently get 2nd place in the Mid-Level track, but can't seem to place first yet.noiseredux wrote:nice. Yeah I almost beat it on my first try actually. Think I was 3 shots away.
I must say Ridge Racer is way better once you get the feeling for it. At first I felt like it was really hard to control. And I still find drifting a bit wonky. But I can handle corners way better now. Even though it's technically only one big track, it's really a super impressive game for a launch title. I like it enough that I'll probably check out some of the sequels.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I've only played Dead or Alive Dimensions on 3DS, which is probably a little more fleshed out than the original, but I know I really fell in love with the fighting system in this. It's so fast paced, it feels like a martial arts movie or something.noiseredux wrote:OK so I beat Dead Or Alive (played through Tournament Mode). This is the fourth or fifth time I've attempted actually. I find DOA to be rather difficult to master. I guess I'd say it reminds of Tekken a bit, but I find it a lot harder. But it's definitely really good. Very deep fighting. Certainly different in style than the Capcom stuff I'm used to. These DOA rounds can end in seconds! I'll elaborate more on my blog when I have a chance.
You spelled Kasumi right BTW. I'm a Lei Fang man myself, although as I said, I haven't played the original, so she might play quite differently there.

Played a little more of RE. Found the first puzzle that involved a bunch of crows and paintings with switches. The puzzle was quite easy and I got the Star Crest. (No idea what its for lol)SwooshBear wrote:Started Resident Evil Directors Cut today. I was almost a Jill Sandwich, but other than that it's a really fun gameBest voice acting ever IMO

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
Been working through Final Fantasy IX, I think I'm around the half way mark on disc 2 now, and about 15 hours in. I'm about to get the Ramuh summon, and I have had 6 of the 8 playable characters at some point or another.
I like swapping between different characters for the story, although keeping them all at consistent levels is a pain. Like right now, I have two characters in my party at level 17, and one at level 12 because they haven't had as many battles for their part of the story up to this point.
I have also been playing a little more lazing blazers, and whilst I love it, I am getting a bit sick of getting to act 9 just to screw up and hit a wall when I lose my powerups.
I need to get back into banjo kazooie, it's been taking a backseat to FFIX atm.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
I think you may have passed me, as I am pretty sure I haven't gone there...I hope to get some more play time in tonight as I feel like everyone is well ahead of me on tackling their list! June is half over and I haven't finished a single game on my listfastbilly1 wrote:Chrono Trigger - I got to the Ocean Palace last night.
