PC Engine Card failure

I am having trouble with a HU Card, everything else works perfectly but this R-Type refuses to work. Any tips or tricks I can try to get some life into this so I can play?

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the cart? If every other game works, that would probably be the culprit. Some rubbing alcohol might do the trick...

you gotta find the hu cards sweet spot. slightly adjust it in the slot till you get it right. Also clean the contacts on the hu card with an eraser.

I had the same problem with my copy of Rtype II. I just cleaned the contacts with some alcohol and it works every time now.

Aside from cleaning, if you're getting a yellow or light blue screen, turn the system back off and back the card out just a little so the lock barely clears it, then turn on again.
