Yeouch, don't think I'll ever get around to putting this one under my belt. Kudos to you for giving a game with such a bad rep an honest shot. Interesting to see that it was at least entertaining enough to inspire you to finish the game.

i beat this multiple times. on default settings my high score is 141k. i am kind of obsessed with trying to improve my score so i will probably continue to play this for a while now. i can't beat the game on default settings, which is 2 lives and 2 continues. i can get to the final boss, but he just kicks the living shit out of me. when i do beat it, i need some extra lives/continues with essentially all of them being used on the final boss.

My girlfriend has a PSN account, so one of the free games we picked up was LittleBigPlanet. Over the last few days she and I have been playing together, and we both really liked this game quite a bit. The game has lots of personality and allows for some great customization options while providing an enjoyable romp through a variety of locales. It also has an excellent difficulty curve that ramps up steadily over the course of the game. I struggled quite a bit with the final levels, and there were a few places that were pretty ridiculous to me, but the fun my girlfriend and I had while playing this together more than made up for any frustration.
Overall I thought the game was good, and I only have one major complaint: transitioning between the different planes of the playing field sometimes seems to randomly occur and sometimes doesn't, getting us killed more than once for stupid mistakes or screwing up puzzles we wouldn't have had an issue with if our characters hadn't suddenly jumped into the fore- or background. But LittleBigPlanet is a simple game with enough charm to make us overlook this issue. We'll probably continue playing it for a while more.
