The Public Enemy- It was alright

Rififi- Solid. Turns from a great heist film to a kidnapping/extortion film in the second half with an ending that truly ends the film.

I'm on my fifth viewing of STANDING OVATION. Funnier than BRIDESMAIDS.

Zero Effect: Quirky quasi-noir not-quite-thriller, not-quite-comedy starring Bill Pullman and Ben Stiller in a supporting role. This film is kind of hard to categorize. I've seen it listed as a thriller, but honestly the tension never really gets that high. I've seen it listed as a comedy, but I'm not sure it really fits that description, either. Anyway, Bill Pullman plays a private investigator who is extremely eccentric, paranoid, and reclusive. Ben Stiller is his assistant who handles any "genuine" interactions he needs to have with his clients. I'm not going to say that it's a great film, but I will say that I was consistently interested.

X-Men: First Class. Some of my thoughts are in the thread for the movie.

I like this movie a lot, it does kinda defy description though.

anyone who didn't enjoy the lousy dialogue etc from Machete is just not a fan of typical 80's USA Up All Night trash. That's fine. But as a connoisseur of terrible crap films, I thought it was spot on in many ways. Like I said, Planet Terror was a TRIBUTE to b-movies, but Machete was more an homage.

Its more of a John Carpenter tribute than just B-Movie's in general tribute.

I saw the movie Hanna last night at the cheapie theatres. There were several chunks of the movie that were in german and arabic, and only 1 sentence was subtitled. Not sure if it was the theatres falt, or if that was supposed to be artistic or something, but it was annoying.

Not to mention the rest of the movie was fairly boring. Worth the $3, since it was an excuse to get out of the house, but I'd never watch the movie again. (well... maybe just to find out if there were supposed to be subtitles or not. I don't think whatever was said there would have redeemed the movie though)

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. I just watched this the night before last. GREAT anthology of short tales. I'm always skeptical of these anthology releases, because I just don't feel as if I'm getting my money's worth. But I was pleasantly surprised. Very good short-stories that interlocked together. The Lanterns are preparing for a massive battle against Krona and The Shadow Demons of the Anti-Matter Universe. While they prepare Hal Jordan, Sinestro, and Kilowog tell rookie Arisia tales of GLs past including the first GL, Mogo Doesn't Socialize, and others. Then it all ends with the GL Corps battling against Krona. Good stuff. I highly recommend picking this one up, especially since it's only $13.
