I take the plug end of the controller cable and bring it down to where the cable come out of the controller. Then I take the looped end and fold it back down to the top of the controller again and continue this till there's nothing left and wrap a rubber band over that.

I LOVE your choice on controllers! I only question your choice of the CGII pad over the CGI or SG or Duo pad. :) I like the dark with the blue/purple.

I like Orange and Gray together 8)
I actually never use the CGII pad, it's for in the rare event that I have more than 2 friends over and we play a multi-player game on the PCE. I only use the Ave pads, once you use them the smaller pads cramp up your hands. Also I like the textured d-pad for shmups.

How about for controllers left plugged in each console ready for the next gaming session? For the primary console that I will play later on the day, I simply lay the unwrapped cable coils and controller on top of the console.

For each console, I first unplug the controller. Next I start from the controller base and get all the snake windings out. I then plug the completely uncoiled cable into the console. Finally, I leave the controller plugged in and wind the cable loosely around the controller. The cable will want to twist in "garden hose" coils, but will be straight when I fully unwind the cable for the next session.

I don't know why some play with a twisted cable, they are only damaging the cable by putting a permanent "memory tangle" in the cable. I hinted on how the N64 is my only console where the controller cables don't retain "memory" and remain tangle free. Something about the wire and insulation allowing an almost loose string affect with no "memory" of getting tangled.

I swear if the N64 controller cables could be bought in bulk with different strand totals inside, I would mod all my controllers.

I give them a few drinks first and then start making fun of them by pointing to their shortcoings. They get all surly.

You shouldn't agitate your controllers like that.

Just let 'em play Twister. That'll wind them up and it'll wind them up!
