Original IP from E3.

Post by J T »

Please use this thread to post any info about original games announced at E3 that are not sequels or remakes. I'm interested to know what the new IP are going to be for the next year.

I'll start by posting the latest amazing trailer for From Dust, which was first announced at last year's E3, but is getting closer to completion. It is made by Eric Chahi, who is famous for being the sole creator behind Another World (aka Out of This World).

Defiance

Trailer Video

Somehow this game integrates a video game with a television series. It's supposed to play like an FPS, have the customizability and social interaction of an MMO, and tie in to a television series that supposedly will go so far as to include player characters in the actual television program. I'm not clear on how this will all work, but color me intrigued.

Awesomenauts

Billed as a mix of Metal Slug and Defence of the Ancients, Awesomenauts is a game inspired by 80s cartoons, which is probably most evidenced by its incredibly catchy theme song.

Great idea for a new thread, after getting hammered with remakes and sequels every year it's nice to be reminded that there are indeed still some original ideas out there. Awesomenauts looks pretty cool

Defiance looks pretty cool, hopefully it plays at least similar to Fallout.

OverStrike

OverStrike is the new game from Insomniac. It looks like you have 4 main characters that form some rag-tag group of futuristic military fighters that are kind of comical and kind of badass. It should play a bit like Borderlands from what I understand.

Rise of Nightmares (for Kinect)

Image

Sega is doing their best to tarnish the Kinect's family friendly image by releasing this little bit of videogaming torture porn. In this motion controlled survival horror game you have been trapped in the dungeon of some sicko killer that wants to ruin your life in a painful way and you are trying to escape by finding weapons like sticks, brass knuckles, and chainsaws. You mime out the movements of these weapons with the Kinect controls so you can look completely mental to your neighbors that happen to walk by your window while you're beating down murderering clowns with an invisible stick and a look of terror across your face.

Everybody Dance

Image

Sony has a dancing game that they plan to release for the Playstation Move. Perhaps this is not the most original IP as it looks like they want to cash in on the success of games like Just Dance (Wii) and Dance Central (Kinect), but it is still a new IP.
