What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Yeah, I can't stand people like "Bob". They really hurt the brick and mortar retro game scene by keeping the shelves full of shit while the good stuff goes out the back door.

Do you know why this dude finally got his walking papers?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Apparently the straw that broke the camel's back was when he took in what turned out to be stolen merchandise. "Bob" always harped on his employees that you need to get a ton of info when taking in trades, due to this particular scenario. The other day, he hypocritically offered somebody credit for their games and they turned out to be stolen. My guess is that it was something rare and worth money, so he took the trade w/out going through the proper protocol, in the hopes of tucking it away like he always does to sell on eBay for 3 times what he paid for it..

I'm surprised one of his employees didn't rat him out to his own supervisor for doing that shit. I've known a lot of people who worked for stores that would buy and sell used merchandise and there were always some very hawkish people in the company who looked for that kind of bullshit. In this one instance I am thinking of, the company actually took the guy to court.

This.

Bank of America a.k.a. financial dipshits foreclosed on this couple's house...that they'd already paid for.

The couple fought back and won. They also won their court costs since the judge agreed that BoA was a bunch of dumb asses. Bank of America decided they didn't want to pay the nearly six thousand dollars in fees and just sandbagged.

So the couple got a judge to agree that they had the right to seize assets. The couple had the local sheriff show up at a Bank of America branch office with a flat bed truck and a bunch of deputies who had been instructed to take all the furniture, equipment, and computers from the place so that the couple could auction them off.

A check was written quite quickly.

That's fantastic. It's nice to see a company get their just desserts when they decide to be a bunch of bastards. Glad the judge/s had some common sense in that robed head.

Smile: Having a meeting with a few higher ups today who will give some great constructive criticism on my report for a board meeting a week from today. I'm going to knock it out of the park next week.

Frown: A water valve broke over the weekend, causing a flood in our warehouse. So far we've sucked up 720,000 gallons of water. Overhead costs will certainly be high for this period.
