Saturn Bomberman won't play

Post by simple »

Hey, so Saturn Bomberman won't boot up on my model 2 saturn.
Not sure what the problem is, it boots to the SEGA screen, then flashes black and goes to the CD player.
The disk is scratched a little, but I don't think thats what affecting it.

Anyway, I really want to play Bomberman, can anybody help me out? :(
ps I'm new to the forums but I LOVE racketboy

I'll take the game off your hands. :D

But seriously, deep scratches can affect it, but if they're just minor ones, you are probably correct in thinking that they are not the issue. Either way, I would give the disc a cleaning and the laser lens as well. If that doesn't help, your laser assembly will need some adjustments.

I had to turn some screws in my white Saturn before I could get it going. Hope your model 2 has the typical orange adjustment knob like most model 1 systems! Mine has a Sanyo laser assembly and does not have that knob. It was a nightmare trying to figure out how to adjust it at first.
My B/S/T thread! :)

What does it say when it goes to the system menu screen (or CD player)? Is it actually reading it as an audio disk, or are you getting another message?

Just to throw something out there, is the game the same region as the system (Saturns are region locked)?

i checked, cause my SBM doesnt have a case, and its definitely usa
my copy of Night Warriors is scratched to hell, and it plays fine (except for the music skipping)

when i put bomberman in, it starts up and goes to the SEGA screen, then flashes black, sometimes to the sega screen again, and then the Saturn CD player. It just says "Checking Disk Format."

I would try the disc on another Saturn to narrow down whether the problem is with the console or disc.

I also have a spare Saturn Bomberman disc that is probably in a lot worst condition than yours. There are TONS of scratches on the underside and even damage to the top side; I can see through the disc. It still plays, although the music skips occasionally.
