Which suggests your TV accepts 60hz via HDMI, yet not the particular connector you're using with the Wii. It is possible you got that unlucky. Sometimes the truth is stranger than theories. I tried running the system via the scart adaptor with the RCA composite connectors plugged into it. What I now get is 60hz without any graphical glitching or sepia tone I do get a darker image as if the brightness was lowered. In Wii games this isn't too bad although noticeable
