What was the last movie you've seen?

I watched Groundhog Day last night. A good movie, but rather too romantical for me.

Now go see the second one!

I want to see that too. I think the first one was actually kind of brilliant, especially for a guy like me who likes martial arts movies and even studied shaolin kung fu when I was young. They plan on making Kung Fu Panda a franchise though, which could be a bad thing actually

I watched Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam today. It's a short 22-minute movie, but it was really well done. Billy Batson is portrayed really, really well I thought. In just the first few minutes I already loved his character. How nice a kid do you have to be to talk to the rats in your living space and even feed them  This could have easily been inserted into the original Superman:The Animated Series continuity and would have made for a solid episode

I saw it with my girlfriend last night and I liked it even better than the first. Unless Cars 2 is better than it looks in the trailers I could see Dreamworks finally getting a oscar for it.
But yeah, I guess they plan on making 4 more of them. The story is pretty solid so far, but still 6 movies is a lot.

I have a movie question, and I figured this would be the place to ask. I'm thinking about watching True Grit, the new version, and I was wondering: is this a good enough movie that even someone like me who isn't a cowboy movie fan would enjoy it?

Yes. It is fantastic. I have a review linked in my sig, if you are curious.

caveat: I am a huge Coen Bros. fan and also like Westerns.

I would second DSH's approval of True Grit, but I am also in the same boat; I love Coen Bros. and Westerns.

Saw Thor. Liked it. Although he seems like he's going to be The Avengers' Superman in that he can fly and do all sorts of rediculous stuff, while the rest of them are just. . . strong dudes (or dudes with strong armor). It made me wonder more who the leader will be. I figured it would be sort of a battle between Iron Man and Captain America, but this guy's a King and basically leads an army. So I'm thinking there will end up being no specific leader, other than Nick Fury, who by the end will have had it with all those motherfuckin superheroes on that motherfuckin helicarrier.

I watched the new Thor animated movie. I thought it was ok but nothing worth raving about.
