Have you hooked it up to an external monitor to see if when the screen is blank that it is actually booting up? Could be a problem with a loose cable, LCD issue, inverter, or GPU. Also, does the fan spin when you press the power?
I haven't checked it with an external monitor, because when it doesn't boot the HDD, Wireless, and one other light doesn't do anything to make me think there is any booting going on even with a blank screen. As for the fan, it is just like the lights its running when it gets to the bios and past but not when it freezes before.

Could be a failing power supply (not necessarily battery)
