FPS games on the Wii

Post by eskil »

I was never a fan of FPS games on consoles because I was convinced you need a mouse to play these games properly.
Now that I have a Wii, I rented Call of Duty: World at War to see if the Wiimote would change everything. I don't think it did. In fact, I feel nauseous. I think this game has pretty much the worst controls I've ever seen. Completely unintuitive and very confusing.
Am I alone in my frustration? Or do you guys know of any other Wii FPS games that might change my mind?

Metroid Prime Trilogy - should be required reading for any developer making an FPS for the Wii.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Either Metroid Prime Trilogy, or The Conduit, which I felt was a really good Wii FPS. Not the BEST of course, but I've always found the Conduit to be a pretty underrated game.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

I agree with these 2 choices and would also add CoD: Modern warfare to that list.

Red Steel 2 was actually really good. Granted, they downplayed the guns in favor of the swords, but still.

Medal of Honor Heroes 2 has great controls and still had decent online play.

Black Ops really shows that a full fledged FPS can be done on the Wii, the multiplayer has everything. Lazy developers hid behind the Wii's hardware for too long removing features and not bothering to put them in because 'the Wii cant handle it'. Black Ops slapped all of them in the face.

No time to get back to Bad Company 2 on the PC.
