Super Game Boy

Post by o.pwuaioc »

Does anyone know if Nintendo or some third party made a cart like Super Game Boy but that is compatible with Game Boy Color games? Would sure be nice to play the original Super Mario Bros on SNES. :P

Not for the SNES, you need to yourself a Gameboy Player for the Gamecube, it plays everything form GB right up until the GBA.

this.

The Super Game Boy is your only way to play GB carts on SNES. Remember, that black GBC carts will work on Super Game Boy though. That's why they're the same shape as gray GB carts. Because they're backwards compatible.

yeah only on the SGB2. Only in Japan. Of course, again you could just get a GBPlayer for GameCube to do the same thing.

I don't have a GameCube, so that's my first problem! And unfortunately, the black GBC carts show up only in original green (which is less color than Super Mario Land, for which I assume they hard-coded a color palette). I guess I'll be happy with my GBC for the time being and get a GC later.

yeah a lot of popular GB carts (SML, Metroid II, etc) had special pallets in the SGB.
