What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I liked the second pirates movie the best. But I seem to always like the 2nd movies the best. T2, Spiderman 2, Xmen 2, Back to the future 2, Gremlins 2, Iron Man 2, Hellboy 2. . .

I liked Crash, it wasn't subtle at all. Still, I thought it was emotionally powerful and I liked its anti-racism message. I enjoy seeing a movie with a positive message, even if it's just there to try and win some awardsLimewater wrote:I didn't think it was a bad movie. I guess I just found it to be very slow. I enjoyed the second half of the movie a lot more than the first. And yes, I don't think it was subtle at all, but it was still a whole lot more subtle than after-school-special-turned-best-picture-winner Crash from a few years ago. That movie really was bad!noiseredux wrote:wow, I actually adored Black Swan.

Just watched Black Swan. I liked it, though I agree with Limewater that it felt very slow. We checked the time after we thought we'd been watching it for 2 hours and discovered it had only been one. Still, it kept up a delightfully creepy atmosphere...though I need to say there is a lot of violence regarding people's toenails and fingernails in this picture. Just about any scene in which a finger or toe is concerned, Natalie Portman manages to do something extremely painful looking. I'm going to consider this one the nail-violence-swan movie.Limewater wrote:I didn't think it was a bad movie. I guess I just found it to be very slow. Oh, I also watched Willard, the remake, which was less than stellar. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it was bad, but it just didn't strike me as something I'd care to see again. Sure, leading a legion of rats to kill folks and destroy things is a nifty idea, but Willard came off as too...I don't know, unintentionally campy I guess.

what channel was hook on?General_Norris wrote:Yesterday I watched Hook again. It was on TV and I was just wasting my time surfing the internets so I decided that I could do both at the same time.
And I say, why, why, why? It's just so sad to see Spielberg's great shots trying to fix the crappy plot and forced characters of the film. It's a pure waste, there was potentia here.
I mean, it had a lot of ideas but no execution whatsoever. I mean, half of the scenes add nothing to the film! It's simply a waste.
sounds like you don't really care for it. i love it. i'm sad i missed it
if you took a shit, please put it back
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I'll second that. Hook's great. Liked it even rewatching it in my latter years. Dustin Hoffman is a phenomenal actor. His Hook is one of those roles that you forget you're watching someone act - it wasn't Hoffman playing Hook, it was Cpt. James Hook.final fight cd wrote:sounds like you don't really care for it. i love it. i'm sad i missed it

BLACK SWAN is wonderful in almost every aspect, and like The Sopranos it uses almost every device known to make you second guess what you have just watched.
Almost everything in that movie is symbolic, and although I believe I know the "message" of the movie and its symbolism I hope the writer never clearly states what that message truly is. Hitchcock perfected the art of less is more, and BLACK SWAN follows in his footsteps.
Oh. And I watched ROBOCOP for probably the 100th time. I still laugh out loud when Red Foreman says "Bitches. Leave". So great.

I was away at camp for 2 weeks the summer this came out. I remember seeing the standees and trailers and thinking with this other kid that it looked like a stupid movie. Oh how wrong we were.Luke wrote: Oh. And I watched ROBOCOP for probably the 100th time. I still laugh out loud when Red Foreman says "Bitches. Leave". So great.

By far one of my favorite films. The death scenes are just shockingly hilarious, and I quote it whenever I get the chance. And at Amazon you can get the movie for almost $1.........someone please say it......Hobie-wan wrote: I was away at camp for 2 weeks the summer this came out.
