Very nice post LL!

KAR was on my wish list for awhile because of its LAN capabilities, but I have yet to try it out (though now I just got a second copy so I can :D). However, the first time I played it, I played it with my buddy, and we both loved it. It's simplistic, yes, but for a multiplayer game like this, simplistic is great. It can quickly help a newbie to gaming to compete with what would be more skilled players in other games.

However, I'll say this: Kirby Air Ride is the epitome of the phrase "easy to learn, hard to master".
Gaming accomplishments:
Nibbler (marathon): 251,169,160 / Nibbler (one life): 5,263,360 (WR)
Donkey Kong: 423,100 [L12-1] (150th place as of 2019-01-15)
Super Smash Bros. (N64): Ranked top 5 in Wisconsin from Q1 2016 to Q2 2017
Shrek SuperSlam: won largest tournament in game's history (Shrekfest 2018)

Tomorrow is a very special day for the Gamecube, and I'll be making a very special blog post at midnight tonight to commemorate it. ;)

Another great article! I did not realize how many console colors were available in Japan! A very good point about media size limits vs quick load capability of the small Gamecube disc. Nintendo kept the almost instant level loads of a game cart. :D

The Gamecube definitely had some brilliant design from a technical standpoint.

Speaking of Gamecube multiplayer, how big is the XLink or whatever community? I know a guy who commonly plays SSBM over XLink or whatever and he claims it is one of the best competetive circles for the people who still play it.
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

The XLink Gamecube community isn't nearly as active as the ones for Xbox or PSP, but finding a game isn't impossible. Overall, you're better off arranging a game beforehand if you want to play your GC online. Custom servers for PSO, however, are very active, especially on the GC.

Enjoyed the Multiplayer article. Pacman vs is so unique and easy to get into, it gets a good run when relatives drop by during Christmas. Interesting observation on the "multiplayer" capability of Animal Crossing. :D
