when you collect games, it doesnt matter

The Gameboy Colour Bubble Bobble is not like the GBA game "Old & New". They are different games.
"Old & New" is a competent (if not arcade perfect) port of the original arcade game with a "enhanced" remake (with new graphics - personally I find the original graphics much more endearing). It is quite nice if you have a GBA to be able to play the arcade classic. Although by default it will show only part of the whole level on the screen you can "zoom out" to have it play just like the arcade original.
The GBC Bubble Bobble does not have the whole level in the screen at all, the gameplay is extremely similar (it is still Bubble Bobble) but probably it has slightly different "physics" or feel than the original.
More noticeably, it has different levels, is single player exclusively as far as I know (the story is that one of the brothers is sick and needs moonwater to be cured), and even has boss fights if I remember correctly - I played it a while ago already (the arcade original only has one boss fight at the end of the game).
There is also a sequel to the GBC game.

the portable bubble bobbles are.....okay, but the problem is no matter what you do, even on the GBA version, you're battling the low screen resolution. Bubble Bobble is best played on a console, or better yet, full-size arcade machine. This is the perfect game to play with the girlfriend/wife/sister who normally would not play videogames with you.
Easy to pick up and learn, cute dinosaurs and that main theme song that is now playing in your mind. You're welcome.
