Seth McFarlane making Flinstones reboot
Re: Seth McFarlane making Flinstones reboot
Getting into a debate with the PTC is like getting in a debate with the Taliban. You're not going to change anyone's mind, and even debating with them legitimizes their complaints. Seth McFarlane gave them exactly the amount of respect they deserve. None.

You debate with the Taliban?Hatta wrote:Getting into a debate with the PTC is like getting in a debate with the Taliban.
Holy shit I better leave this forum!
Re: Seth MacFarlane making Flinstones reboot
I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Certainly if the PTC were respectable, then being ornery would make Seth MacFarlane look bad. But the PTC is in no way respectable, and civilized debate with them has long since passed. At this point all one can do is mock them into shame.Gamerforlife wrote:True, but it makes you look bad is all I'm saying.

Maybe I am wrong but you seemed to imply that you had no idea why someone would greenlit the Cleveland same for Bob's Burgers, since you said it was probably the same guy. But if you were a fan of Home Movies or Dr. Katz you wouldn't greenlight a show done by the same people that seemed similiar? To use your analogies, I am sure most people who liked every Final Fantasy they played will try or at least be interested in the next game. The same for Green Veggies, I am sure if you liked every green veg you tried you would try more. Now once you tried one you didn't like I am sure you will be less hesitant.irixith wrote:One does not have to like every show by a particular team. Clearly I do not like all of Seth MacFarlane's shows, but appreciate some and his talent for comedy in general. I mean really, what a bizarre thing to say. Going by that logic, if I didn't like one Final Fantasy, I guess I don't like them all. If I don't like broccoli, I guess I don't like all green vegetables, and I guess if I don't like the Ford Taurus, I must not like all Fords.pepharytheworm wrote:I take it you don't like Home Movies or Dr. Katz either.irixith wrote: Probably the same person that greenlit Bob's Burgers (not a Seth MacFarlane show).

... I still like Family Guy...
Re: Seth McFarlane making Flinstones reboot
Haven't watched the cleveland show. Heard it sucks. Don't know why it's still on.
Don't care for american dad. I just don't really like the characters. I'd rate it slightly less funny than family guy. But I'm so behind on watching family guy episodes, there's not much reason to add american dad episodes to the backlog.
I'm pretty sure his response to the parents thing was not meant to be a serious argument or knock on them. He seems like a very intelligent guy from what I've seen. To me his comment seemed like more of a "Those guys are insane and are offended by rediculous things, so let me spew something unintelligent and vulgar to represent how undeserving they are of an actual rebuttal, while at the same time getting them worked up and lowering their view of me which takes very little effort to do"
And like others have said, if it's not another family guy clone in humor and animation, then it might be worth making.

The interesting thing is that Family Guy was just a Simpson's ripoff. And the Simpsons were just a Flintstones ripoff. So it has all come full circle.

So do I. Family Guy is freaking hilarious. I also like other "adult" cartoons like Futurama, South Park, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and especially The Venture Bros.FiftyDollarCurse wrote:... I still like Family Guy...

Family Guy has made me laugh more time than I could remember over the years, but seriously, South Park has always had the top spot for me.
