Saturn Emulation

Post by o.pwuaioc »

I recently downloaded Satourne 2.0β3 to try out Saturn emulating. However, my antivirus caught a virus (WORM/Yahos.rb), a pretty serious one at that. I then tried SSF, but it never runs properly, showing me an error after I click on "file". Is there anything out there that's decent now? Or do I just have to wait?

SSF works amazingly. It's usually just a matter of the config file, having the bios, and having DirectX properly installed. I know its given me fits to set up on a fresh system in the past, but once it's working man does it work great!

I'll give it another shot. I probably just did something wrong. Any idea about the virus in Satourne?

Download from a more reputable site? I dunno.

What I DO know is any saturn emulator OTHER than SSF is pretty much a waste of your time. SSF is definitely the leader in Saturn emulation and is really the only one that works worth a damn (and boy does it work!).

Girigiri, Satourne, Yabause, they all pale in comparison to SSF.

I downloaded it Satourne's website itself, not a mirror... I'm still tinkering with SSF though. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it appears there's no way to load a game from a virtual CD drive?

Go to Option->Option->CD Drive

There should be a drop down menu. You *should* see your virtual drives there, as well as your physical drives. Select the correct drive, and restart.

Yeah deathsled is right, SSF is othe only Saturn emulator worth using. It's incredible! It works, more or less, great on my laptop, and it's a pretty old laptop. I think you should be able to get it working and it just requires some configuration.

I wish I could be more help regarding settings and what not, but unfortunately I haven't used SSF properly in a year or two now, and I no longer have it due to a hard drive breaking.

Good luck, hopefully you get it going.
