Takes about 20 sign-in attempts before I make a connection. If you are getting the PSN is undergoing maintenance message, just keep trying. I played RE5 for about 2 hours and it was pretty solid, almost no lag. Strangely, I didn't see any players from other regions. So I guess we are restricted to our own regions for now?

Seems to be the luck of the draw.

When I first turned on the system today, I had no trouble logging in and updating. I changed my password immediately. The PS3 crashed when I tried to review account data. So I rebooted and that is when it took me nearly 20 attempts over the course of half an hour to get back on to PSN. I never dropped connection when I was finally logged in.

I'm 3 hours from Wipeout and just downloaded and logged right in in the late afternoon. *shrug*

5/15 update from Seybold:

We’re currently experiencing an extremely heavy load of password resets, and so we recently had to turn off services for approximately 30 minutes to clear the queue.

As such, a large number of people are attempting to change their passwords at the same time, it’s taking longer than expected for all those emails to clear all of the ISPs.

If you’ve requested your password reset, please give it a bit of time to reach your email. Thanks for your patience as we work to get everyone back online.

By the time Weasels, Ryu, Mugen and myself jumped into a LP2 game at around 11pm CST, we were able to instant login.

I logged on four or five times yesterday without much problem... I did lose connection twice, but have a feeling that was my wireless router and not PSN.

@sevin: bad news, bud -- looks like the NBA 2K9 server is gone :(

but hey, synced some trophies, unlocked some MvC3 shit, lurked around the strange world of Home and got my ass handed to me twice in SSF4.
