Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Can't stand Taco Bell. Or really any fast food for that matter. The only fast food I can still stand is Carls Jr.

I know the joke is that Mexican food and fast food gives you all sorts of intestinal problems. Taco Bell is also only 'Mexican like' food. I can understand not caring for the taste of the food or its poor nutritional qualities, but you guys must have delicate stomachs.

I personally know two people that got E-coli from Taco Bell, and it had nothing to do with their stomachs being weak.
The fact that they're able to sell a half pound of ground meat for 99 cents and turn a profit alone should be enough to alarm anyone.

All chains vary location to location, drastically with Taco Bells. The real Mexican places near my house dont make me sick at all, neither do the Indian (both India and Native American) or West African places. But Taco Bell makes my stomach churn.Hobie-wan wrote:but you guys must have delicate stomachs.
On the side one of my random ideas might have just became a business opportunity.

Taco Bell is god-tier fast food. Everyone I know, me included, has said that's one of the only things they really miss when out of the US
TB's also awesome cause it's one of the only fast food restaurants I can go to with vegetarian friends and not have to worry about them being able to find something to eat
A friend of mine who recently left to do a study abroad in Japan wanted it to be his last meal before leaving, but we couldn't pull it off. Disappointing, to say the least.

When I was living in Japan my friends would bring me Taco Bell whenever they came to visit from California. They would pick some up right before heading to the airport and when I pick them up at Narita I chow down on 12-hour-old bean burritos right there in the parking lot.

Also, 12 hours sounds great for a flight to Japan; leaving from Indiana ends up taking like 24 hours door to door... (unless you're lucky enough to find a direct flight, which is fairly rare from my experience - but whenever I fly anywhere I just grab the cheapest ticket I can find, so there's probably some directs available)
