One of my favorite home improvement sites (finehomebuilding.com) has an online article/video about sound proofing the bedroom.

At the 7:10 mark in the video, you can see the guy applying the green glue to the sheet rock.
I'm glad that it worked out for you. I'll have to keep the glue in mind when I do the basement remodeling.

That guy applied it pretty meticulously, I did it more like they did in the video on this page:gtmtnbiker wrote:One of my favorite home improvement sites (finehomebuilding.com) has an online article/video about sound proofing the bedroom.

They say that the pattern you use to apply it doesn't matter so long as you cover it evenly. Another thing in the video you linked, they used the SilenSeal in every seam in the drywall. I remember reading on the Green Glue site that the SilenSeal doesn't have any benefits over spackle. I used regular old spackle for all the seams on my wall. I did use the SilenSeal though. I used it mostly for the outlets and the perimeter of the wall. By the way, I ended up with an extra unused tube of SilenSeal and I don't believe I have any use for it. If you end up using Green Glue for something and want to use the SilenSeal, let me know and I'll give it to ya for the cost of shipping.
Thanks! I'll eventually formally post a thread in the Game Rooms forum once I get everything done.Bradtemple87 wrote:Very clean setup
Thanks! Yeah, they've got some bad tears in them. It's not that it's even expensive (found it here just now for cheap) but it looks like it might be a pain in the ass to do. The screens are crimped into the plastic frame, so I'm not too sure how to go about attaching the new screens. I've thought maybe with a staple gun, if the staple A) goes into the plastic without B) cracking it. Maybe there's a trick to doing it?Hobie-wan wrote:Looks good sir. Maybe re-dye the screens, or are they torn up on the edges too?
