And if things don't work out later, instead of having a fair breakup where each person keeps their own stuff, they have to spend more money, argue in divorce court and eventually someone (almost always the man) gets fucked over and has to give the other person tons of money and alimony.

It all depends on the two parties but you can have an amicable divorce without having to argue in court. Usually you divide the assets acquired during the marriage but it can be more or less depending on the agreement.

As for alimony, keep in mind that the other party may have stayed home with the kids for 20+ years. Do you think that it would be fair to that person to not get any sort of alimony?

I requested it to be reopened. I came to the thread and saw 4-5 pages worth of comments and I had wanted to respond to Inazuma's comments (always fun) and the *&^^% thing was locked already.

Sorry to disappoint but I am done with this bullshit discussion here. I got a warning over it, plus I am just sick of it anyway. I'm not convincing anyone so why should I waste my time or risk getting banned over it. If you guys want to make bad decisions in your life, you should be able to do so without someone like me trying to talk sense into you. I know that it is very annoying and frustrating to deal with a stubborn mother fucker who shoves truth and logic in your face and easily shoots down any pathetic attempt you have at arguing against.

It's possible to have a good discussion without resorting to swearing/yelling/name calling or whatever you did to get a warning. In any case, it's pointless to get upset over any debate over the internet or in real life.

I should clarify this. Inazuma, you generally do use logic correctly in your posts. You just often think it can do more than it can.

And then sometimes, yeah, you just get really stubborn and insist that you're right and everyone is wrong and something is the logical conclusion because it's what you think.

I do really appreciate that you usually try to explain why you hold the position that you do, though. Most people don't think about why they believe what they believe.
