I remember those cases, but I have not seen any in the wild for years.

Like these?
I don't know about them being rare, but yeah, those things are cool. I use to have a few of them, all clear but I had a blue one as well. They're definitely awesome, but they require more shelf space and if you don't have one for every cart you own it's kinda meh.
Yes, those are the ones. I have a three pack of the clear ones.

Yeah, they are pretty neat cases I always thought. I just remembered that I still have one, I keep my Saturn memory cart in it.

I have a blue one. Came with The Punisher, a Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers manual, and a Pac Man manual all inside for $1.00 at Goodwill. Ever since, I've been on the lookout for more of those boxes at thrift stores.

Re: What's the rarest game you own?
this is a pretty cool thread, lot of amazing rares.
I'd say my rarest games would be my two copies of Suikoden 2 (one complete, the other 90% only missing the meat of the manual), Valkyrie Profile (complete), Duck Tails 2 (kinda rare I guess..), Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 2 SNES (Complete).
There's others I'm forgetting at the moment.
At one point I owned The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. It was disc only but it was only one of maybe four listed on ebay. It appears to be incredibly hard to find for any less than $75 for disc only. Almost Suikoden II prices.

Not really rare but kinda limited print.

MS Saga: A New Dawn. You can't really find this game when it release and only saw it twice. Basically, it's a Gundam game but in an RPG forum. It sound fun but actually from what I heard, the game isn't much interesting.

What is it worth...what did you pay? ...and most importantly - is it good? i'm unfamiliar at best.

Cool cover... never heard of it. The girl dress looks familar to an anime character that was on cartoon network for short time.
You took too long, now your candy's gone. That's What happens. Bkowwwww. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

I have a feeling you're talking about Eureka Seven show.
I actually got this game today for a very shinny penny (40 dollars). For this, I didn't even have a chance to play it yet. It's really an old style RPG game but you play with SD Gundam. The fun thing about the game is you can mix and match how your Gundam will look and what weapon it can carry. This is actually the only attraction I am actually want to see as the storyline for this is really bland as we see this too many time in other RPG (aka: you're the only survive from an attack from the enemy and now the whole game is really you going to destroy the enemy for what they did). Most of the complaint are either storyline is bland, graphics is not on par for what the Ps2 can do, character development is so-so, etc. Basically, a average game really.
