I'm gonna say Final Fantasy 13 as a current gen choice, even though I think it was was from awful. However, even though I have finished most of the series, it deserves mention due to all the controversy the name alone brings up.

I say Sonic R, though I don't think its a bad game. Most people think it is, but I think most people are wrong.

Its a good game that had potential to be even better. It gets a bad rap with a (un)healthy dose of bandwagoning.

A modern Sonic R would be all kinds of awesome. I guarantee it. Too bad it'll never happen.

I don't feel bad about games that are unplayable. But many games do deserve better. Some of these are not really bad but just heavily criticized.

Games I feel bad for:

Sonic R (Sega Saturn)
Phantasy Star III (Genesis)
Phantasy Star Episode III: Card Battle (GameCube)
Final Fantasy XIV
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Nes)
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (Nes)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Nes)
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity (Wii)
Sonic and the Black Knight (Wii)
Sonic Unleashed
Thanks everyone...

I have very mixed feeling over it, but in general I did enjoy it as well

I think it's visually amazing. Such a perfect "hey you just got a PS3? Check THIS out" game.

I LOVE the score.

I actually find the linear quality of it suits the game itself. Meaning, I'm not sure a completely open-ended world COULD have worked in this game. It keeps the game constantly moving ahead. Good pacing.

I think the battle system is actually exciting.

Perhaps most importantly, I like (almost) all the characters. Considering it was the characters that generally turned me off from FFX, it's refreshing that I could actually enjoy the cast here.

So bottom line, the positives for me tend to outshine the negatives. And to agree, most negatives tend to be ones that I think are here for a logical reason.

Back to the Future for NES gets a lot of hate. It's true that the game has almost nothing to do with the movie franchise on which it's supposedly based. It's also true that this game is terribly hard, but so are lots of Nintendo games from that era. This is another game that AVGN fans hate without ever having played.

Back to the Future for NES is actually a fun arcade-style game in the same vein as paperboy. The screen scrolls up as Marty Mcfly walks up the street. Along the way Marty must avoid all manner of crazy obstacles including bullies, glass movers, and deadly ballerinas. This game is hard in a good way as it tests your reflexes like old arcade games of yesteryear.

The score and the visuals are both very good.

I think everything else is flat out terrible though, the cast especially. Worst FF cast ever for me.

Vanille was far more annoying to me than Wakka could ever hope to be...
