agreed. Perfect Dark does look good. But no on Conker.brunoafh wrote:Why wouldn't I pick a visually impressive game as an example of a visually impressive game? Makes sense to me.BoringSupreez wrote:If you're going to use Chrono Cross, maybe I should use Perfect Dark or Conker's Bad Fur Day.
As for Perfect Dark and Conker, Perfect Dark looks very good. Conker doesn't though. I know it all comes down to preference and taste when you're saying which console looks better, but I don't see how it could even be argued that the N64 does 3D better than the PS.

Re: Sega knew their stuff
Most everyone who posted screen shots in this topic used a screen shot from an emulator. Maybe the textures were that good, but emulators can enhance those graphics:
Muddy as hell.
Anyone remember Chrono Cross?

Also, here is a thread showing some specific screen shot comparisons

Look, I'm not trying to start anything, I just want to show you what the games "really" look like on a TV screen versus emulator. Maybe this means you should play them on an emulator instead

This can depend a lot on your TV and the Audio/Video cables you use to connect your system though. The quality can vary a surprising amount from person to person depending on their personal set-up for playing their games.Xonticus wrote:Look, I'm not trying to start anything, I just want to show you what the games "really" look like on a TV screen versus emulator. why, can you think of any other "good game" that I've said I'm not a fan of?MrPopo wrote: You can join Hobie in the "We don't like good games" club.
Re: Sega knew their stuff
Well yeah of course, I just really meant the comparison between the actual system's hardware output versus the software output on an emulator with various enhancements. Most of the screens posted here are an unfair representation of what the hardware actually outputs, no offense but obviously they look much better than if you were to play them on an actual playstation or n64.Czernobog wrote:This can depend a lot on your TV and the Audio/Video cables you use to connect your system though. So all in all, most of these screens would not invalidate what the TC was trying to say.

I see a distinct lack of Deus Ex on your RF Generation list.noiseredux wrote:why, can you think of any other "good game" that I've said I'm not a fan of?MrPopo wrote: You can join Hobie in the "We don't like good games" club.

that means I haven't played it/don't own it. Has nothing to do with liking... to be honest, I'm only familiar with the game's title. I don't know anything about it. At all.MrPopo wrote:I see a distinct lack of Deus Ex on your RF Generation list.noiseredux wrote:why, can you think of any other "good game" that I've said I'm not a fan of?MrPopo wrote: You can join Hobie in the "We don't like good games" club.

I also do not like Ocarina of Time .. or Final Fantasy VII (7) .. or Halo. All for very different reasons mind you, but those are three games generally considered to be "good" or even "great" by the gaming masses that I just cannot get behind. However, I love A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, FF1 through FF6, FF9 .. and, well, nothing in the Halo series, but hey, can't win 'em all.noiseredux wrote:why, can you think of any other "good game" that I've said I'm not a fan of?MrPopo wrote: You can join Hobie in the "We don't like good games" club.
I do tire of people who are all "you dun like teh good gamez" when you say you don't like Ocarina of Time. It's just not that great of game. Deal with it.
