I've been loving this game and playing way too much, if you're a fighting game fan at all you need to give it a shot. There's a lot of depth that you wouldn't expect. The downside is that they don't make things too clear in the game, you'll need to research a bit online or shell out for the strategy guide (which from what I've seen is really nice).

Honestly, my biggest issue is the load times. I got it on PS3 and the waiting can really suck the fun out of an otherwise awesome game.

The DLC has surprised me. There's already a free DLC character (Honky Tonk Man) and a two character pack with Dusty and Cody Rhodes for $1.99. Much more reasonable than Capcom's DLC, that's for sure. Unfortunately, it seems the Million Dollar Pack (DLC with Ted DiBiase and Ted DiBiase Jr.) is remaining a pre-order bonus for the time being, I hope that changes because I wanna play as the Million Dollar Man himself!

If anyone on here has the game and wants to play, my PSN ID is NightStartMugen.

I'll second this - definitely the BEST wrestling game to come out in a long, long time! The game is simple enough - a strong and hard punch and grapple button, all easily delegated to the face buttons, and your finishers are simple LB/RB or (I'm assuming) L1/R1 taps. This game is easily accessible for those that care nothing for the yearly Raw Vs Smackdown games, or anybody even remotely interested in wrestling!

Bottom line: If you have fond memories of huddling around the N64 with some friends on the weekend, pummeling each other on WCW/NWO Revenge, or Wrestlemania 2000, you owe it to your inner child to check this game out!!

I was thinking of picking this up eventually. Anyone know what the entire roster list is? I liked Legends of Wrestlemania but I was disappointed there was really no season/storyline mode. That's cool they added Randy Savage, I'll be using the Ultimate Warrior first though since he's the first wrestler I truly loved as a kid! 8)
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Here's the current roster (there's a lot of DLC promised):

-Andre the Giant
-Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
-Ultimate Warrior
-Mr. Perfect
-Jake "The Snake" Roberts
-Macho Man Randy Savage
-The Rock
-Eddie Guerrero
-Stone Cold Steve Austin
-Jimmy Snuka
-Bret Hart
-Hulk Hogan
-Sgt. Slaughter
-Shawn Michaels
-Roddy Pipper
-Kane
-Undertaker
-Triple H
-Rey Mysterio
-John Cena
-John Morrison
-Sheamus
-The Miz
-Jack Swagger
-Big Show
-Randy Orton
-Drew McIntyre
-Kofi Kingston
-CM Punk
-Edge

Here's the released DLC characters so far:

-The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase (need a Gamestop pre-order code at the moment, not for sale otherwise)
-Ted DiBiase Jr. (comes with his father in the same pack, so you can't get him without a pre-order code for now)
-Honky Tonk Man (free DLC!)
-Cody Rhodes (comes in a pack with Dusty Rhodes for $1.99)
-Dusty Rhodes (available in the pack mentioned above)

Here's the unreleased but planned DLC that they've revealed so far:

-Animal
-Hawk
-Chris Jericho
-Jerry Lawler
-Mark Henry
-Michael Hayes
-Big Bossman
-R-Truth (will be free as an apology to making 360 users wait for DLC)
-Chris Masters (rumored on another site, no real official confirmation)

There's also a secret character in the game according to developer interviews, but no one has found it yet. There's supposedly mentions of "Iron Sheik" and "Goldberg" on the game disc, so they could be hidden away or just possible future DLC.

Lots of good stuff to look forward to, I'm glad they plan to make this game last. I can only hope they'll also deliver a patch with load time optimizations.

From what I can understand, this game has re-adopted the control scheme found in the old AKI games, yeah?

Sort of, people like to make that comparison but if you go in expecting a new AKI game I think you might be disappointed. But if you just want a really fun fighting game with plenty of its own depth and shades of the AKI games then you'll enjoy it. The developers are big fans of GOOD wrestling games, check out some of their influences from this interview snippet found in the guide:
Q: Did any of the classic wrestling games such as WWE WrestleFest or WWE WrestleMania: The Arcade Game influence the development of WWE All Stars?

A: Absolutely! We have a lot of old school gamers on the team who played these games in the arcades and on their home systems when they were first released. WWE No Mercy was a big influence, as was Wrestlefest, WWE WrestleMania, WWE Superstars, Ultimate Muscle Galactic Wrestling, Fire Pro Wrestling and even Mat Mania. We’re also big fighting game fans, so games like Def Jam: Fight for NY and franchises like Street Fighter and Soul Calibur were also big influences.
You do have to counter strikes with R and grapples with L (includes signature/finisher grapples/strikes as well), but in addition to that there are "reversal windows" within the regular moves that you can tap L or R in to interrupt their move with a reversal. Usually they can reverse your reversal, and you can also tap L or R when you know another player's reversal window is coming to cancel it out (a big "X" will appear over their reversal indicator). This video they put out explains it better (but it doesn't cover everything):

As far as specifics on the control scheme, it might be better if you looked at the preview strategy guide: http://thqinc.cachefly.net/wwe/AllStars ... yGuide.pdf

Pages 7-11 list off the controls for all systems.

I'll wait for a good price drop and then pick this up. I did enjoy the demo at least enough to consider picking this up.
