Re: The Wrestling Thread
I gotta say, Edges's Farewell Smackdown speech is one of the classiest things I have EVER seen in the WWE. The guy thanked EVERYONE, including the little people whose efforts go ignored and unsung by WWE fans, the people whose job it is to make these wrestlers look like stars. He also thanked his mom, the fans, his close friends(like Christian) and even people who aren't even in the WWE anymore like Lita.
Sure, he went on and on for a long time and completely broke character, but here's a guy who truly understands the meaning of the word GRATITUDE
And bonus points, he told ever WWE fan to come and talk him if they ever see him in public and maybe he'll buy you a coffee
One last thought, I didn't know he has held more championships than anyone in WWE history. Daaaaaamn...

Props to the man. He's leaving the industry standing tall and not on his back.
(I still think he's still impressive enough to return to TV in some sort of on-air role.)

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
It was really cool to see Edge's farewell speech. I'm actually QUITE surprised he went out on top like that. It's been a longtime tradition that when you leave WWE you lose your final match, you don't go out as Champion. So Vince must have really appreciated Edge.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
It's about time, the guy deserves it. One thing that makes me happy as a WWE fan is that I have learned that most guys who pay their dues get their just reward. It may take ages, but I have seen it happen time after time and I saw it again tonightsevin0seven wrote:Gamerforlife wrote:Your winner, and neeeeeeeew World Heavyweight Champion!!! CHRISTIAN!!!!!

Good show overall I thought. The divas had a decent match and I have the biggest Leyla crush so I'm glad she won. Fitting, since Leycool's co-championship run actually started when LEYLA won the title. Karma's debut was pretty awesome. I'm glad they fed Michelle to her since I never liked her(spoiled as she is being the Undertaker's wife). I LOVED seeing the "Oh shit" look from all the diva in the back
R Truth is really winning me over with his heel turn
They need to get Cole off my tv. It's getting old now, though I have to admit seeing Jim Ross put an ankle lock on Swagger was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!!
Nice match with Cody and Mysterio. Green mist!!! WTF!!!! That's not enough to make you cooler than Sin Caro dude

yep. This is one of those instances where it pays to be married to someone with a lot of power in the company because if this were anyone else they probably would not be given the same luxury.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I like it! It's about time. Let's hope WWE uses this right and give Christian the push he deserves, rather than dropping it to Orton or Cena next month. TNA, ECW, and now World Heavyweight Championship. Do you think he'll gain a WWE Championship to add to that list?sevin0seven wrote:Gamerforlife wrote:Your winner, and neeeeeeeew World Heavyweight Champion!!! CHRISTIAN!!!!!

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Why did they have to give Cena the belt? ......Again?!!!
Seriously, if the WWE wants to redeem some slight resemblance of integrity in that spinning gold hot potato they call a championship belt, they'll at least keep it snug around Cena's waist until at least Wrestlemania when he has a legitimate threat to it..
I say let the title holders hold the damn thing for more than a couple weeks. I never cared much for Miz, but his title reign was long enough (what, 6-7 months) to be a breath of fresh air for that division.. THAT, alone, made me root for the heel...
And I agree - here's hoping Christian gets the push he deserves!
