geozeldadude wrote:i added ESPN NFL Football to the poll b/c it and ESPN NFL 2K5 showed up a lot on the IGN lists. does anyone know what was so great about those games? just curious. the other football games that seem to get mentioned a lot is the madden series.

NFL 2k5 is widely regarded in the sports gaming community as the best football game ever made. It did things that Madden still doesn't do 5-6 years later. Because of this game EA paid for exclusive rights to the NFL and thus eliminating their competition. There are many online communties dedicated to updating the rosters on the game and keeping it current for people.

Chrono Trigger and Doom join the pantheon. the votes were all spread out, so Galaga is the only one that made it to the next poll. God of War didn't get any votes last poll, but its sequel may fare better.

There's no way to pick any of the options on this poll.

despite a strong first showing, Galaga got booted off this poll. EarthBound, Grim Fandango, and Donkey Kong continue on. i'm going to try reducing the # of choices to 8 to see how that changes the voting distribution. i'm also going to try switching to a M/W/F schedule for the polls. happy voting.

Earthbound makes it to the pantheon in only two polls. Donkey Kong is poised to join it, although Grim Fandango, like Galaga the previous poll, completely choked on its second showing. this poll marks the first Final Fantasy game. will be interesting to see how much that series dominates the polls. happy voting.
