I trust Valve enough to know what they're doing. As long as they don't mess up half life or portal, it'll be fine. If HLep3 was multiplayer somehow, I think it would have optional splitscreen co-op during the story and if playing by yourself it better have the best companion ai ever. Also, since the storylines of half life and portal are becoming closer, maybe half life 2 ep 3 gameplay will be like portal 2 co-op only with Alyx and Gordon with portal guns.
Just saying, "Probably" isn't set in stone. So I'm not worrying yet.

I keep hearing this about Portal 2, is this for real? I remember one of the biggest reasons I was excited about it was because hey, they're hyping it up to be a full game this time! When the original Portal was like a teaser kind of and only a few hours long. Just a "few more" hours longer basically is kind of disappointing to hear.MrEco wrote:Portal 2 being a 5 hour long experience for $60.

Flake, Valve was built on Single player story driven games. Valve is saying it's their way or the highway to us, so why can't we stop supporting them too?Flake wrote:Lol, with the extreme 'My way or the highway' mentality everyone seems to have I am surprised any of you guys can find a game to play these days!
Hell, I just recently reinstalled HL2 just to play a bad ass singleplayer mod that blew me away!

This looks totally awesome. Were they going for a FEAR vibe here or something? That's definitely what it looks like (think I even saw some slow-mo in the trailer).Anthony817 wrote:http://www.moddb.com/mods/underhell

It took MrPopo 10 hours, me 8hours , and Niode 6 hours (I think). 5 might be feasible if you are trying to hurry through - but there's a lot of dialog to hear and a good many secret areas to uncover.Xeogred wrote:I keep hearing this about Portal 2, is this for real? Well, I didn't see any slomo like in Fear gameplay wise, but it is a very creepy game, and you have to use your head for puzzled to leave the house and find keys. When the action sequences start, it is pretty much standard shooter fare, but I found it very desirable.Xeogred wrote:This looks totally awesome. Were they going for a FEAR vibe here or something? I'm 4+ hours in and not halfway through yet. So people complaining about the length are probably going a bit too fast and completing for the sake of completing.dsheinem wrote:It took MrPopo 10 hours, me 8hours , and Niode 6 hours (I think). 5 might be feasible if you are trying to hurry through - but there's a lot of dialog to hear and a good many secret areas to uncover.Xeogred wrote:I keep hearing this about Portal 2, is this for real? Not to mention the difficulty, if the game has the option.

I just wish we do see a Half Life 3 with single player
How would co-op work? Someone playing as Alyx or Barney would kill their NPC status, so they can't talk.... do we really need another mute?
And if they do talk, then the player playing as Gordon will have a totally different experience.

I haven't actually played it myself. but I"ve heard from many other people and many reviews that the game is indeed very short. I've heard most people say its about 5 hours long so that's why I chose it for my example. It could very well be an exaggeration though the game is definitely short even if its 10 hours long.Xeogred wrote:I keep hearing this about Portal 2, is this for real? I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.
