So i recently bought a ds lite off of craigslist that had a broken touchscreen. I ordered a replacement touch and bottom screen and watched a youtube video on how to fix it. I did that and got it all put together and now it wont power on. I opened it back up and everything seems plugged in how it should be.
Any help is appreciated!

You say that you ordered a touch and a bottom screen, you do know that the touch screen is the bottom screen? Could you perhaps have switched the two and thats why the console wont turn on?Jabroney wrote:So i recently bought a ds lite off of craigslist that had a broken touchscreen. if you watch this video at about 5:00 there are two components to it, i figured one was the touch receptor or whatever and the other was the lcd screen. But either way what i ordered came with both of those so i didnt need to take it part like he did in the video, i just stuck the two new pieces together
Re: Nintendo DS Lite Repair Issues
I had this issue (after nintendo had fixed it!) - My problem was beacuse one of those tiny ribbon cables that connect the screen to PCB werent quite in properly. After reseating them it booted fine. Hope your problem is this simple to fix
Re: Nintendo DS Lite Repair Issues
make sure that all your cables and wires are seated properly too. I replaced my case bout a year back, and i couldn't get it to power on after reassembling it. Turned out, one of the wires was not seated right, so be sure to check all your connections and that the wires run where they're supposed to and you should be able to get it fired up again.

Re: Nintendo DS Lite Repair Issues
I just fixed the volume in my GBASP this weekend and had the same issue FWIW. I either had no screen or no boot until I finally got the blasted screen ribbon cable contact cleaned and back in properly.

Re: Nintendo DS Lite Repair Issues
ive taken it apart and took all the ribbon cables out and put the back in as far as they can go and still no luck. I guess ill try cleaning them off next try.
Also the smallest ribbon cable, the one thats about half a centimeter wide, it looks like it got folded accidentally, like theres a crease in it. Could that be the problem?

Well obviously you can get to the plug end of the ribbon. If you can get to contacts on the other end to test continuity. If anything doesn't make it through the lines, may just need a new one unless it plugs both ends and you can replace the ribbon.
